Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Decent short course.
This course reminded me of a course where I got my start in golf 40 years ago. The layout was good and the fairways and greens were in good shape. I went a morning after a rainy night so there were the expected puddles on the course.
This course is great for beginners or to practice your short game.

Low budget course
From out of town, didn’t know what to expect, booked last minute and it was available, should have known why. Poorly kept fairways and greens. Starter was not friendly at all. Seemed mad he was working so early in the morning. Initially told us that there was a frost delay, but when multiple groups showed up after us, he just said to get out there and start playing.

Too expensive for 9 holes of golf
This course is cute and could be sooo much better maintained for what they charge. You could pay the same or even less to play 18 holes elsewhere. The greens were ok. None of them where cut at the same speed and the fairways could use some work too. Ultimately, I had a good round even though it rained on me for the last 4 holes. Not their fault there. The course is very short so I had to play from the tips. The driving range is so short I couldn’t hit anything bigger than my 3 iron.
I will only play this course if I can’t get a tee time elsewhere.
In close, lower your prices to match the course and you will get more business.

Not worth the money , on their billboard they say $18.00 fir 9 holes with a cart but for some reason we paid for 4 players $158.00 and the staff could not tell me why we were charged so much , their explanation was we were charged $10.00 fir a booking fee ???? That dies not add up
$18.00 x 4 = $62. And adding $10.00 even per player would come out to $102.00 so honestly do not know if this is the golf facility it Gokf Now that ripped us off
Not Happy at all and recommend that people pay attention to this because we got screwed big time

Ok for beginners
The course is an old course with very small greens. Not terrible for a par 3 but not worth much more than $25 IMO.
No cart paths even though it was cart path only.
It only took us an hour or so to play so the pace was fast.

Water please
This course is in dire need of water. At least some part of the course should be playable - tee box, fairway, greens, even the rough. The whole course was brown. Worse yet was the fact that the grass clippings weren't collected from the greens. Unbelievable. It's also very difficult to locate your ball when there are range balls all over the place. This course needs special attention.

Probably Not Fair To Review Now
The course was getting ready to close for a few weeks to complete their annual overseeding. The guy at the proshop said he was warning people as they made t-times. However the information was no provided to me when I made a reservation through Golf Now. If I had known I would not have played. To be fair the course might be totally different once the overseeding is finished.

Not worth it
One of the worst courses I have played. Not maintained. Golf carts are barely in working order, if you can find one. Half of the tee boxes didn’t even have tee markers. The pins don’t even fit in the cup so they just lean over. New holes haven’t been cut in weeks, cup edges are terrible. Range balls all over the course and all over the fairways. Other players have no etiquette and will play/hit into you for some reason, it’s not like they could play through due to no regulated pace of play. Not worth the green fees. The green fees match a lot of top notch courses and this one is maybe the farthest from it.

Staff was friendly but fairways, greens and sand traps were all in poor condition. No starter, we had a group of young men cut in front of us and told us they "were members" so they were going to play another nine in front of us.

Terrible condition for the price
I pause $132 for three people to play this course and to say the conditions were poor is an understatement! Not only was the grass virtually not existent unless it was in a sand trap, the tee boxes were not level and pace of play was horrible. Uncleaned golf carts… just terrible. If I knew that’s what I was going to be paying for, I wouldn’t skipped out and gone to another course.

Ehhhhhhhhh
This is not a golf course. 9 hole course (which isn’t a big deal), but this is probably the worst course I have played. Staff is really nice, but the course is terrible. Terrible grass, dirt and mud everywhere, greens non existent, terrible set up, just overall not good and shouldn’t be a course anymore. Factor in the $40 tee time at 2pm and just wasn’t enjoyable. Would be worth it for $10…maybe
