Shalimar Golf Club
About

Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

A good experience.
We used this as a warm up start to our golfing in the area and were very pleased. It was the day after the big rains of March 1st, so the fairways were wet and lots of mud and water in the rough, but the greens were excellent and rolled true. Very accomodating staff and well worth the price.
Shalimar
Nice course; great for the money. Old course with lots of variety-- greens small but nice. Fun.
1st time I played this course I walked. Easy walking.
This time with my wife I rode and enjoyed it as much if not more.
Good Value
I took Grandpa and junior golfer to play 9 holes. Most holes are Par4's, but not overly long. Course was busy, but not slow.
Would return with family as this is a nice way to spend 2 hours playing golf.
Go somewhere else
The play was very slow as the course is really short, paid for nine holes and only finished five. Had a 1:45pm tee time but didn't tee off until 2:10. I had to quit playing at 3:40 (my fault). The holes are really short so at times you had to wait for group to get off the green which really slowed down play.
Nice, friendly, flat
Nice public course. It's been unseasonably hot here for a couple of months so the course is dry. It's an older course and it shows. However it has nice old trees and some water. A pleasant play and great value on Golfnow.com
Cheap But Cheerfull
Nice little warm up to the week. At its price point it is a great value with decent tee boxes and greens rolling true. 9th hole could possibly use a clowns nose over it but all in all a fun afternoon on a mini course.
Shalimar
Overall Good Course, only knock was some of the greens were extremely small, one was only about 15yrds in diameter
Ideal for beginners
Staff were friendly and helpful. The course is not in very good shape but adequate for what we paid.
Good condition - tiny greens are challenging
A bit slow due to a promotion that increased number of foursomes. Nice combination of par 3s -3 and par 4s - 6 for an executive course. Small greens make course challenging.
Nice treat
This is a quick fun little course. They seem to stack you right behind another and have to watch out for players balls on holes that sit next to each other. Two holes but right up against the driving range and if your not careful you take take a ball to the back. Pure hacker course no one yells fore, if you do hit your tee shot off line keep a close eye on it or someone is bound to take it. With all that being said for less then $1 a hole you can't beat it, at least I have not.
Nice Course
staff was very friendly and the course was in good shape. The only thing wrong was too many snow birds.
Golf experience
I enjoyed the 9 hole course. The course was well kept. I would go back.
Fun track
What a fun place. The people are very nice and the facility is a really fun place to play. It is rather short, so it has broader appeal. A great place to spend an afternoon.
Great value
Aside from the course being double booked for some of the tee times due to being available on two discount golf sites the course was worth visiting. It was in good condition, the greens are challenging and the price makes it a good value.
Great Local Course
This is a nice local course that you can either walk or ride. Course stays steady with local area players. All friendly.
Old School
This place reminded me of days gone bye, it had a great old feel , unfortunately so did the course, the greens were a little shabby but the tees were nice.Still a lot of fun was had thanks to Dave, Nick and Jamie, great time either way,
Worth the price :)
I have played this course several times in the last year. It is a good place to get in a round at a great price (especially in the winter in Phoenix). Keep your expectations low but it is golf, and the staff is friendly. Slow play is common as there are usually beginners around. Keep your pace with an extra cold beer when you start and end! Have fun.
