West at Eagle Valley Golf Course
About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Beautiful Day
it is rare to have the perfect temps and no wind in the Carson Valley as we did yesterday...course was in great shape ....except for the bunkers which are still bare of sand in most of them.....had fun with wife even
good times
I always enjoy playing here, occasionally run into a slower group, but that can be said about most courses
Wednesday at Eagle Valley West
Nice day at the course. Pace of play was just under 4 hours, which was nice considering we had a fivesome in front of us. Course can be tricky, it would help if you play with someone who knows the course. Greens were in great shape and held very well and putted true and quick. Will be back again.
Disappointed
I first played this course 9/26 and liked the layout but was a little bummed about conditions and pace of play. There was a starter which was a good sign but I never saw a marshall on course at all. It took me and the couple they paired me with almost 6 hours to complete and half (no exaggerating) of the greens were soaking wet after 1pm. I have had numerous friends brag about the west course to me so I was slightly confused and almost certain that I had just been there on an off day. That being said I decided that I'd give it another try and boy was that a mistake.... Yesterday 10/11 I showed up and there wasn't even a starter there. I was able to start with the group I was paired with 10 minutes late due to the group in front of us (a foursome) hitting multiple balls each a few feet in front of them. We were stuck behind them all day and they refused to let us play through. The back nine there were three groups waiting on every teebox for these guys and nobody around to do anything about it. It was miserable to say the least. It's a shame that this course has tons of potential but nobody caring for it. I will not be wasting anymore of my money golfing here.
good times
Very fun and nice course
Always enjoy playing here
Relaxing
Course layout is not bad. Summer time is definitely affecting g it, but not terribly except the hardness of the greens.
Still a great value!
Relaxing round
The course is in reasonable shape with hard greens that don't hold. However that may have been because of the wind.
Good value for the price. We will be back.
Eagle Valley West
The west course is overrated, fairways were just in OK condition and greens were just OK. Sand traps were horrible, i.e. they had no sand in them and they had been watered and was hard as a rock, it was like hitting off a concrete path. I would still play this again.
Wide open
Large fairways. Often two fairways in play. Greens in great shape. Not a lot of undulation. Fun round without much pressure. Pace was good today probably aided by Smokey conditions.
Could have been better
I typically really enjoy this course but this day it was extremely hot and humid....out cart ran out of gas on 3rd hole and had to wait almost a half hour for someone to come out to get us going again so the mood was soured.
also the course was heavily over watered in many spots creating puddles and mud everywhere ....traps were mostly mud pits with ponds....all good though if you stayed out of them....as usual
