Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Great fun
Tee boxes were a little shabby. No sand in bunkers. Pace of play was ssllooww. No drinking water on the course. Even with all that it was a great course to play. Better bring your straight game. Will definitely be back
One of my Favorites
Love this course. Very challenging but very much appreciated. Beautiful
Decent
Too many dry areas, but overall good condition, a fun layout with hills and hidden water...
Always a good round
Great course for the money. I've played it a handful of times while visiting the area. The pace of play is great compared to Sacramento Valley. Pace of play has always been less than 4 hours.
Great scenic holes on both the front and back 9.
Nice little hidden gem.
Nice staff, poor course conditions
The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. My biggest complaint is that the tee boxes were far from level, and the water hazards took up most of the fairways. Once again, excellent staff, and a difficult course.
First time back in 5 weeks
We were glad to see the course is improving. About 5 weeks ago it was in the worse shape that we have seen, it badly needed some watering. Right now, the greens were nice and so were most fairways, some still need more watering tho. Looks like some tee boxes are gonna be re-sodded soon, good!
Be back soon, thanks!
Many tee boxes closed. Greens and tee boxes not well maintained.
Awesome challenge
Water hazards require strategic playing. Holes on the hills played over canyons are intimidating but playable. Love the challenge of this one of my favorite courses.
Fun course, as usual. Conditions are fine. Staff is fantastic.
Reliably Solid Course
Great variety of layout requiring lots of different shots. Beautiful views!
Challenging Course
I really like playing here. Challenging course, always in good condition. A little slow today, but it is great to see people playing this course. Staff is over the top friendly. Always stop for the hot dog half way through. Really an enjoyable experience here.
Tahoe’s Twisted Joke in Fairway Form
This place is a fever dream built by a madman with a backhoe and a grudge against golfers. Sun Ridge sounds like a majestic alpine oasis, but don’t be fooled—what you get is patchy turf, rock-hard greens, and tee boxes that feel like they were plotted by a blindfolded mountain goat on amphetamines.
The conditions? Criminal. Fairways as dry as a Nevada divorce. Greens? I’ve seen smoother asphalt in a Reno parking lot. You could roll a putt sideways and it might still find a root, a crater, or the dark truth about your short game.
But the bunkers—sweet Jesus. They weren’t just bad; they were unplayable. Concrete masquerading as sand. Some had weeds growing in them. Others looked like crime scenes from a desert horror film. I watched a man take three swings and nearly dislocate his spine. A recovery shot felt more like an archaeological dig.
And the layout? Deranged. Holes zigzag like they were designed during a mescaline-fueled vision quest. Blind shots into ravines. Fairways that vanish into pine-thick purgatory. You don’t play this course—you survive it.
Tahoe’s beauty deserves better. Sun Ridge is a broken promise with a scorecard. Play it once for the story, then hit the bar and never look back.
Very good
Staff friendliness and course layout and condition are what brings me back. Although the range was closed, we were able to get out about 45 minutes early with the help of the staff working around the current tournament.
Love the variety of holes on this course.
Sunridge
Interesting layout. You need to play it several time to know where to hit off the first elevated tee (14th hole)
You need to watch out some of the lakes as you can't see some of the edges .
Difficult but great views
Several holes are extremely difficult especially if you have never played the course. The elevation, teeing off from 3k ft above fairway was next to impossible but beautiful views and great challenge.
Recommend playing the course.
