Sunridge Golf Club

About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Challenging Course
I really like playing here. Challenging course, always in good condition. A little slow today, but it is great to see people playing this course. Staff is over the top friendly. Always stop for the hot dog half way through. Really an enjoyable experience here.
Tahoe’s Twisted Joke in Fairway Form
This place is a fever dream built by a madman with a backhoe and a grudge against golfers. Sun Ridge sounds like a majestic alpine oasis, but don’t be fooled—what you get is patchy turf, rock-hard greens, and tee boxes that feel like they were plotted by a blindfolded mountain goat on amphetamines.
The conditions? Criminal. Fairways as dry as a Nevada divorce. Greens? I’ve seen smoother asphalt in a Reno parking lot. You could roll a putt sideways and it might still find a root, a crater, or the dark truth about your short game.
But the bunkers—sweet Jesus. They weren’t just bad; they were unplayable. Concrete masquerading as sand. Some had weeds growing in them. Others looked like crime scenes from a desert horror film. I watched a man take three swings and nearly dislocate his spine. A recovery shot felt more like an archaeological dig.
And the layout? Deranged. Holes zigzag like they were designed during a mescaline-fueled vision quest. Blind shots into ravines. Fairways that vanish into pine-thick purgatory. You don’t play this course—you survive it.
Tahoe’s beauty deserves better. Sun Ridge is a broken promise with a scorecard. Play it once for the story, then hit the bar and never look back.
Very good
Staff friendliness and course layout and condition are what brings me back. Although the range was closed, we were able to get out about 45 minutes early with the help of the staff working around the current tournament.
Love the variety of holes on this course.
Sunridge
Interesting layout. You need to play it several time to know where to hit off the first elevated tee (14th hole)
You need to watch out some of the lakes as you can't see some of the edges .
Difficult but great views
Several holes are extremely difficult especially if you have never played the course. The elevation, teeing off from 3k ft above fairway was next to impossible but beautiful views and great challenge.
Recommend playing the course.
What's going on there?
First time there where we were disappointed! Tee boxes need some work, most fairways need watering (you have water right there in those ponds), sand traps fair, and it looks like you are still working on your greens aerating and fertilizing them. That should of been done by now, other courses are done and are looking real good right now, it looks like it is lagging there somewhat. We like playing there a lot, but we may have to wait awhile now until you catch up on the maintenance. Not mad, just disappointed. See ya soon! Staff is great_thanks!!
First golf of season
Fairways need a little more time to fill in, but overall the course was in good shape. Lots of water in play, so going for it presented some challenges! Will definitely try and play again!
Mr Toads wild ride.
Always a great time at Sunridge.
Love all the different aspects of the course, every hole is unique.
Cheers…
Still early in the season
Course is coming out of Winter still with lots of dandelions and weeds in the fairways- greens are in good shape but very slow right now. It will get better with warmer weather and some TLC
Good layout
We all liked the layout just seems to need a little bit more time for fairways and greens to get into better shape. Staff was great 👍
wait a couple weeks
I love this course when the conditions are good. elevation changes and abundance of water make it challenging. not impressed yesterday. give it a couple weeks for the greens to recover from punching and sanding.
Course not ready yet.
Spring maintenance is going on right now, the course is in bad shape. Everyone is great there, we like playing there, but they shouldn't charge full price when the course looks like this. It should be half off until they get it back in shape. We'll be back but not for a little while.
Potential
Fun layout. Greens were good. Fairways were so so. Nice staff. Good value. I’d definitely play it again. Hopefully it will green up nicely in the upcoming weeks. Lots of potential.
Great value and fun vourse
Loved it! Bigger club house would match the course for sure. Ladies working were awesome! Love the 19th hole bonus!
Excellent layout. Fun but challenging
This course is beautiful and never disappoints ya. Has some challenging shots and water hazards. Beautiful wildlife and great staff!
