About

Nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Toiyabe Golf Club (formerly known as Thunder Canyon Country Club and Lightning "W" Ranch Golf Course.) has a picturesque landscape of shimmering lakes, meandering streams, and towering pines. This course has a traditional layout that features contoured fairways and fast, generous greens. There are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and water comes into play on 14 holes. Elevated tees provide spectacular views of Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain. The golf course is challenging but still player-friendly with seven sets of tees. In addition to the course, Toiyabe Golf Club also offers practice facilities that include chipping and sand practice areas along with an expansive putting green.

Played an afternoon round so the wind was up. Course in good shape coming out of the winter. Rough was up, greens medium fast but love the setting.

5.5 Hour Saturday morning round

Title says it all. They will say it was a frost delay but really it was poor marshaling. 2 somes out there, 5 somes, open course in front of the lead group. Duncan stacks their tee times too close

Grounds crew is doing a stella job, course looks/played great for early season. Weather was great but the pace really hampered the morning

This is one of my favorite courses in Reno area. I was connected with three men in there mid thirties. They were very slow ( talking and not ready to hit there next shot ) and weren't concerned about anyone else. I quit after 8 holes.
