Nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Toiyabe Golf Club (formerly known as Thunder Canyon Country Club and Lightning "W" Ranch Golf Course.) has a picturesque landscape of shimmering lakes, meandering streams, and towering pines. This course has a traditional layout that features contoured fairways and fast, generous greens. There are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and water comes into play on 14 holes. Elevated tees provide spectacular views of Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain. The golf course is challenging but still player-friendly with seven sets of tees. In addition to the course, Toiyabe Golf Club also offers practice facilities that include chipping and sand practice areas along with an expansive putting green.

Slow play

The group in front lol forever on the greens. You would think they were putting for a milllion dollars. Foursome that kneeled and walked around and measured every putt for all four , even laid down to view putts

No Marshall to speed up. We actually timed their putting. 8 minutes on green average greens excellent shape. The rough no good lots of unkept areas

I have played this course 3 time and each time was a pleasure. Great layout gives you a challenge on each hole. You don't need to bomb your driver to play, but can. Water on several holes, but easy to play around.
