About
Blackmoor Golf Club, a Gary Player Signature course, was built on the historic Longwood Plantation, whose heritage as an antebellum rice plantation along the majestic Waccamaw River accounts for much of its charm. The 18 championship holes feature flowing lakes, moss-draped oaks, lofty pines, and ever changing cypress. Attention to detail is noticeable from tee to green. For cold-weather play, the course is kept green from tree line to tree line to give a refreshing view for those from snow-covered northern climates. Unparalleled fairways focus your attention on one hole at a time. Be sure to study Blackmoor's course layout, since several blind shots to the green will challenge your perception.

What Happened to Blackmoor
Blackmoor used to always be in nice condition seven years ago last time I played. I was embarrassed I recommend our group to play. Tee boxes and fairways in poor condition. Pace of play extremely slow!
Disappointed in this course
First time & going to be the last time playing here....course was in very bad condition. Definitely not worth how much we paid to play here, I do not recommend!
Cost was overpriced
The course was not great. The fairways were sparse. Greens firm but were not grainy rolled true.
First Time
The course was in fairly good shape. Like any course, staying in the fairway was key to scoring. The greens/puts rolled consistently though some greens had a bit of debris(from the trees, etc.). Would have liked to see the beverage cart more than once, but all in all was a good course for first round of the year.
Fairways terrible bunkers in kept
Fairways weee in terrible condition the bunkers were totally in kept and appeared to have been in that condition for awhile.
Blackmoor Newbie
This was our first time playing a real course like this. We started playing last summer. The staff was very friendly, the Pro Shop staff was very helpful and shared lots of insight into the course. We were paired with an experienced golfer and was super patient with us. The fairways were good and green, and greens were in great condition, although some a bit spongy from a late morning rainstorm. Doglegs were challenging but they way I hit, it was perfect for me with one step at a time.
Interesting layout - Slow Pace of Play
Course layout was interesting. Staff was polite and friendly in my experience. Course conditions were average. Pace of play was incredibly slow. Plan for at least a 5 hour round.
The front nine needs to recover from winter. The coarse needs moisture and warm sunny days to get the grass going. For this time of year I would say the coarse was in average shape .
Nice Course!
12:20 tee time but there was a frost warning that pushed everything back an hour, so 5.5 hour round - not the course’s fault. Aside from that, the course was fine. Nice course!
Nice course
Played as a single and hooked up with another single. Great guy and from my home state. He eas a member so that helped allot. Great course highly recommended. Greens rolled true and overall great course conditions.
Good Venue for All Skills
Specific ally played with four of my buddies today. We are all gentlemen of a"certain age" and played from the gold tees. We love the condition of the course. We really like the layout. It was a really fun course to play. What makes it so nice? Is that the tee settings allow play for golfers of all skills and age. We will definitely be back again!
