Blackmoor Golf Club
About
Blackmoor Golf Club, a Gary Player Signature course, was built on the historic Longwood Plantation, whose heritage as an antebellum rice plantation along the majestic Waccamaw River accounts for much of its charm. The 18 championship holes feature flowing lakes, moss-draped oaks, lofty pines, and ever changing cypress. Attention to detail is noticeable from tee to green. For cold-weather play, the course is kept green from tree line to tree line to give a refreshing view for those from snow-covered northern climates. Unparalleled fairways focus your attention on one hole at a time. Be sure to study Blackmoor's course layout, since several blind shots to the green will challenge your perception.

Reviews
Blackmoor Newbie
This was our first time playing a real course like this. We started playing last summer. The staff was very friendly, the Pro Shop staff was very helpful and shared lots of insight into the course. We were paired with an experienced golfer and was super patient with us. The fairways were good and green, and greens were in great condition, although some a bit spongy from a late morning rainstorm. Doglegs were challenging but they way I hit, it was perfect for me with one step at a time.
Interesting layout - Slow Pace of Play
Course layout was interesting. Staff was polite and friendly in my experience. Course conditions were average. Pace of play was incredibly slow. Plan for at least a 5 hour round.
The front nine needs to recover from winter. The coarse needs moisture and warm sunny days to get the grass going. For this time of year I would say the coarse was in average shape .
Nice Course!
12:20 tee time but there was a frost warning that pushed everything back an hour, so 5.5 hour round - not the course’s fault. Aside from that, the course was fine. Nice course!
Nice course
Played as a single and hooked up with another single. Great guy and from my home state. He eas a member so that helped allot. Great course highly recommended. Greens rolled true and overall great course conditions.
Good Venue for All Skills
Specific ally played with four of my buddies today. We are all gentlemen of a"certain age" and played from the gold tees. We love the condition of the course. We really like the layout. It was a really fun course to play. What makes it so nice? Is that the tee settings allow play for golfers of all skills and age. We will definitely be back again!
Ohio Browns fan
Course was great. Our bag drop fand starter ellas. were awesome. They made it fun right outta the truck. We had a 2 some and got paired up which took us a little longer as far as pace but great people.
Hard, brown and fast.
Well they are not exactly using a lot of water on this course. Less green than most of the others I have played here recently. But the greens were the fastest and rolled true which accounts for a higher rating than it probably deserves. Also when my playing partners stopped after 9, the course was virtually empty.
Not worth it
5 hour round, grounds crew constantly in the way, never moved so you could hit.
Too many courses down here to play this one again… I certainly won’t be back.
Great golf horrible pace of play
Course was in great condition despite heavy rain the day before. Greens were a touch slow but ran true. Can't complain about the course layout or friendliness of the staff. Downgraded to four stars when it would have otherwise been five because the pace of play was inexcusable. And it doesn't matter if you got out first thing in the morning because they go off both teess. Had a 7:30 tee time and my foursome played the front nine in an hour and 45 minutes, but once we made the turn we ran into a wall. Took us three and a half hours to play the back nine for a 5-hour round. Not a ranger in site. When we got to the fourth hole, a par 3, there were three groups on the tee box. I'm on vacation so made the best of it and played great, love the course but if you trying to get a quick round in that is not good.
Average
Fun course with a decent layout that forces a few interesting decisions. Greens weren't great, but not necessarily bad either. Only issue would be what seemed to be double booking. Had to wait 30+min to start and then 10-15min on the tee box of each hole.
