Blackmoor Golf Club
About
Blackmoor Golf Club, a Gary Player Signature course, was built on the historic Longwood Plantation, whose heritage as an antebellum rice plantation along the majestic Waccamaw River accounts for much of its charm. The 18 championship holes feature flowing lakes, moss-draped oaks, lofty pines, and ever changing cypress. Attention to detail is noticeable from tee to green. For cold-weather play, the course is kept green from tree line to tree line to give a refreshing view for those from snow-covered northern climates. Unparalleled fairways focus your attention on one hole at a time. Be sure to study Blackmoor's course layout, since several blind shots to the green will challenge your perception.

Course needed water
I realize the summer climate in SC can be harsh, But more attention for watering needs to be priority number 1.
We had a great day despite the heat! Probably would play again! Thanks
Great staff/super friendly
Coming form out of town we felt like locals. The staff was amazing.
Not in good condition
We played Wednesday. The greens were “punched” about a week earlier. They were not good. I actually called 2 days before I booked & was told conditions were good.
The tee boxes were horrible! Very patchy w chucks of grass & sand. Fairways were just ok but had to play the ball up bc of inconsistent grass cuttings. Rough was rough.
Checked in and went to driving range.
No info at desk that you had to buy balls. Had to pay for a bucket via a ball machine. Layout was actually very nice w yardage flags.
It is a good track w several hole challenges but conditions “in season” & for the cost was not good. We won’t be back. Disappointed.
Great round
Booked tee time day before. Had a storm that evening and course was pretty wet but playable, cart path only. Greens were in recovery phase of being punched and were extremely slow.
Disappointed
The course was not well maintained. It had a few long carries and quirky holes that were somewhat gimmicky. I would not return.
AVERAGE
Courses within 5 miles in better condition - especially tee boxes (atrocious at Blackmoor) - and for less money. Not a bad course just not a very good value comparatively speaking.
First round at Blackmoor
Great course, fun track that was better than the stifling heat we played in. Will be back to play again.
