Ventura Country Club
About
The golf course at the Ventura Country Club, situated east of Orlando near many major highways and the airport, is semi-private but the facility welcomes outside play. It is a short course that features undulating greens with sudden breaks. The golf course has challenging par-3 holes that put a premium on shot accuracy. There are strategically placed bunkers throughout as well as water hazards on 14 holes. Most of the well-manicured fairways are lined with homes. The par-5, 13th hole is Ventura Country Club's signature hole. It requires a shot from an elevated tee over water and past thick forestry on the left and an approach shot to small, well protected green that slopes back to front.

The tee shot on #6 requires a rather strong forced carry Photo submitted by Tom1842836 on 12/04/2017
Course is a little tired as far as tee boxes and fairways .Greens in good shape overall. Probably not a course we would play again.
Not taken care of
Greens have patches in them, tee boxes don’t have grass on them and rough is all dead grass.
They let someone on with a T-shirt and sweatpants. That tells you what kind of course this is. Cheap prices and the course reflects that.
Winter
Good fairways, short course, fairly basic and easy to play. Greens had some speed just a. It bumpy. and some turf issues
Decent Average Course
Okay course -- tough par 3s -- long and tight; greens were decent.
Do not go.
I want to preface this by saying that I understand the concept of correlation between quality of golf and the price thereof. However, the value of playing Ventura is not even close to the price that you pay.
We arrived to the pro shop 40 minutes before our tee time, and when we said we would like to hit range balls, they said they could not let us because it would take too long, so we chipped and hit putts for 35 minutes before we teed off.
The pace of play was very bad, and I frequent at Winter Pines, so I know what a truly long golf round entails.
But let’s get to what almost motivated me to ask for a refund after finishing 18. The course is in terrible shape. Awful. I have never, ever seen tee boxes so poorly manicured. The rough is completely dead, as is much of the fairway on the property.
The website reads “With the addition of all new Champion Bermuda Greens, Ventura Country Club is on its way to becoming the Best Conditioned, Best Value and the Most Player Friendly golf course in the Orlando Area!”... relatively speaking, at a price of $55 (on here it says $41, which is simply not the case) Ventura is literally the worst-conditioned, worst value, and least player friendly golf course in the Orlando area.
Cut your losses. Go to Rio Pinar or Winter Pines.
Fun course. Great value
This course shows that it ghastly a lot of play and we played it before the growing season, so the fairways were not very plush, but it was well maintained, had a very friendly staff, and Marshall’s that kept things moving, so we had a fun experience and would definitely play there again.
Nice short course, some rough areas
This course is short but good layout makes it fun to play. T-boxes are sandy, not much grass, the fairways are good, greens have some rough patches but overall good.
Terrible green
Needs to improve fairways and green, 4.3 rating is not true.
always good
some bunkers already rebuilt in advance of April shutdown, welcomed for sure. In good shape, worth playing.
Favorite course in Orlando for a high handicap player
Always in fantastic condition
A true country club
We loved Ventura. The course was in great shape. The carts were GPS equipped. The clubhouse had a great restaurant and pro shop.
Slow play
Have played. Ventura a couple of times. Yesterdays round lasted for 5 hours with waiting on every hole and every shot. The round had been very enjoyable with normal pace of play at an otherwise beautiful golf course.
Enjoyable course to play
This course is well maintained, has plenty of challenges with water, bunkers and some tight fairways. The greens are hard and fast, but putt true. Some greens have sandy repaired areas.
Cart police
I hurt knee and carts stopped a good distance from greens and tees. Skipped some of them. Nice short course, gets a LOT of community play. A nice day.
