The Heritage Club was built on a plot of fertile land along the beautiful Waccamaw River Trail. Over 600 acres of giant magnolias, 300-year-old oaks, fresh water lakes and marshes have been transformed into a golfing community that rivals the finest in the world. The Heritage Club reflects a unique landscape carved by the whims of the river. A magnificent avenue of oaks leads to the welcoming clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw River.

Ranked among the “50 Best Public Courses in America” by Golf Digest, the Par 71 Heritage Club, a Dan Maples design, follows the natural contours of the land, stretching out beside long abandoned rice fields. The Heritage Club course features spacious, rolling fairways and large, undulating greens, surrounded by lush stands of crepe myrtle, camellias and azaleas. Heavily landscaped areas of wildflowers and flowering shrubs will maintain the beauty of this beautiful setting for generations to come.

Heritage

Our foursome really enjoyed the course, and will definitely play there again. Interesting layout, beautiful landscaping, pristine conditions. In addition, our package included breakfast and lunch with drinks. Great deal.

Disappointed

I wanted to play a highly rated upscale course like Caledonia (which I loved), so I booked Heritage Club. Staff was great, parking was not, had to park on grass since lot was not adequate. Afternoon tee time, fairly crowded but not too many. Tees were not in good shape, many needed more grass. Most holes were fun and challenging. But several holes were 'quirky' to the point of unscoreable. One hole had the green with a slope away from the iron shot and just inches from the water, with a green that did not hold any shot. If you putted the ball 6" beyond the hole it was in the water. Not fair and not fun. Some other greens had slopes that were too extreme for fair play. Fairways and greens were in decent shape, but not to resort quality, Overall, skip this and play some others that are cheaper. fairer and more fun. All this IMHO.

Great track but pace of play issues

Heritage is a great golf course, well maintained, very scenic, and a good challenge. It is very popular, and as a result, very busy. We followed a group of 56 golfers and as you would expect, pace of play became an issue. When you tee off later in the day on a cool day, it takes away from the overall experience. I will give it another go, on a warmer day, and earlier on the tee sheet.

Slow!!!!

Paired up as a single with 3 great people. Behind a slow group that was behind 2-3 holes. Took 2 hours and 45 minutes to play front. Called pro shop. Nothing done. No marshall. Nice course but way too slow. Doubt I go back.

Wow

What a fantastic course. The greens were pristine, and there are so many holes that really make you think.

12 through 14 are their own amen corner that really test your metal.

The staff was friendly and I made it around in under 4 hours
