Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club

I’ve played here 30-40 times. Staff is almost always friendly. 7 years ago this was the best course in West central Florida. It has been on the decline since then. Some greens were in great condition but most fairways were dead grass. The bunkers were unkept, most green side buckers were more grass than sand. I think the course could be brought back but would take some money and talent. I will still play it, it’s close to home and I love the elevation.

Love this course but the fairways and majority of the bunkers are in very rough condition.

Okay so the course is in terrible condition and I am not saying that because someone made me upset, but the course really is bad shape from tee to green on every hole. I wish it wasn't so, but it is. The course has a great layout, with rolling terrain and some of the elevation changes are spectacular for a Florida course, but it is poor shape. The carts are not the best either, mine and another person in our foursome had no windshield which sucked because it started to rain very hard.

My positives are everyone is very cordial and the course layout. You have to play here at least once and just imagine if it was in great shape, just block out the cow pasture look.

This course is crap. Fairways are dry and barely any grass, rough is worse. Tee boxes are barren of grass. Greens are big and okay. Nice layout with hilly challenging shots with great views. This course needs HELP to become even "average" !

The course was in good condition today. The play was slow because lots of people playing today.

Excellent golf course but not the greatest shape. Normally in good shape but not that day......

I played this course a few years ago and it’s just not the same.

Fairways have inconsistent grass and bald spots. If your ball is anywhere off the fairway good luck finding it. The greens were in just a bad a shape. Sandy and inconsistent. Bunkers are absolutely garbage. I’m not even sure if you can call them bunkers. ( it’s clear they were struggling here before covid)

It’s a real shame the conditions are so poor because they terrain is great and provides a great challenge for up and down hill holes. There are drivable greens because the terrain slopes down so hard. It’s go a lot of potential but definitely needs so TLC.

Fairways full of holes and weeds, greens had Sandune‘s in them, tee boxes not maintained.

This course gets a bad rap because of the conditions. It’s not the ritz Carlton or Waldorf but if you’re thinking about playing here, do it. The greens were rolling pure, a few of them sandy. Fairways were a little dry but playable. Just got a new greens crew a few weeks ago expect the conditions to get nothing but better. This course has the best views in Orlando. Play this course!!

As my husband said ‘they should’ve payed us to play here!’!

No fairways whatsoever...all weeds, dead grass, dirt, random sand. Tee boxes were mounds of dirt. Every bunker had no sand added to it and grass growing out of it. Their description says they are like Scotland with interesting course layout...well, I’ve never been to Scotland but I highly doubt it’s ANYTHING like it! Odd layout, a lot of blind shots, disgusting lack of care of the facility, dangerous lack of proper cart paths and lack of direction to holes.

Also...staff WAS NOT social distancing or wearing a mask! I did not feel comfortable in that regard at all.

On back 9 the only restroom facility was one port a potty.

I should’ve listened to other reviews but wanted to see for myself...it’s a two golf clubs down . Go elsewhere.

Greens were very good, fairways were so so. Course needs just a little touch up here and there to make it great again. Every hole is challenging, weather your hitting down to the hole or up to it. The views from some of the tee boxes were awesome. For the price you can’t go wrong.

I always liked this course because it is so hilly and the rest of the courses in Orlando are flat but this course is in horrible condition.

Course needs some work, but improving. If you stay in the fairways and hit the greens it is a lot easier. I like the elevation changes. Need to ask to socially distance, ride by yourself. What out for the wacko that lives close to the landing area on hole #10.

I love this layout. The views for Central Florida are spectacular. The course is fair but challenging in its heyday. But today was not that. Bunkers are overgrown. Greens were in bad shape and hairy. But the worst of all was the pace of play. There were 2 foursomes in front of us who took FOREVER. We had 3, caught the group on the tees in front of us at least 5 times, and still they never offered for us to play through. We only got to play 17 holes, and it was still longer than 4 hours. We ended up skipping a hole just to get ahead of the slow pokes, other wise it would have been another hour. Of course there was no ranger to move them along either. I used to love this course. It might be a little bit before I go back.

This course has a great layout. It's got some amazing and challenging elevation changes which you don't see in Florida. It's got such great potential.

But the conditions are horrible. You hit a ball in the rough, you've pretty much lost your ball.

The fairways were rock hard and it was like hitting off of a dirt path in most places. Weeds all over the fairwaus

The sand traps were weed traps. The greens were dead and bare in many places.

There seems to be no grounds crew aside from the 10 year old they pay to mow the lawns.

It's so sad because it could be one of the best and most unique courses in the area but the conditions are just horrible
