First time playing The Ridge ....

Course has a great uphill / downhill layout.

Real fun course. Great course - but ......

Just seams like the grounds crew is letting it go. Grass needs cut / maintained, seeded , traps are more of “weed trap” then sand traps.

Cart paths (where there are some) have cracked. I know that they are going through a “switch over” now - really have hi hopes for outcome. So I’d go back - not right now....

But maybe after renovations take place.

Solid overall experience, can’t beat $35 for a round of golf with a beer included. Great layout but course could use a little TLC.

The only reason the course has grass is because we’re in Summer rain season. There’s more grass in the sand traps than on the fairways. Greens are pretty crappy. Grass on the greens was probably three days I mowed. No such thing as a true roll. Greens are full of thatch.

Clubhouse restaurant wait staff is top notch.

The people in the pro shop are aware of the crappy course conditions and will tell you that the owners don’t want to put ANY money into the course.

I played there on a hot deal because it was so cheap it was the same price as hitting a couple big buckets of balls at a lot of places.

The pictures on golf now of the course are false advertisement by the course. This course is garbage now.

I love this course, but the condition of the course was terrible. The bunkers are full of weeds. The fairways were brown and some spots were dirt. This used to be a fantastic course. It had hills and you second shot on most holes was a great looking shot at the green. It needs an overhaul. I can’t bro the people that live on the course aren’t upset with the conditions. Not sure if I will ever go back

Course ha a great layout. Greens are in good shape , but are way too slow. Fairways need a lot of work. The trap placements are pretty well done ,but they are terrible there is no sand at all and are overrun with weeds.

Course needs a lot more care.

First off, the negative reviews have not overstated how bad course conditions are, but don’t let that scare you away. The course layout, and the use of varying terrain (quite extreme by Florida standards) made for an exciting day. All things considered, it was great day of golf. Highly recommended if you’re willing to play on terrible greens, and like the $30 price.

The grass was in horrible shape. Many holes had more dirt and dead grass than green grass in Fairways. Made play difficult. Greens were not in best shape either, but at least they were mostly green. would have been nice for someone to tell us (starter, check in, booking) that conditions were poor.

Won't be back for a while, if ever.

What shock and dismay met us when we returned to Sanctuary Ridge after 3 years. To say it was dry would be like saying the Sahara Desert is sandy. We live in rhe Tampa area so this wasn't exactly a quick trip. We have no plans to return any time soon. Such a shame as the course has the potential to be magnificent!

All I can say is save your money. They should have paid us to play there. Maybe they should close it and fix it up. It could be absolutely beautiful!!! But it’s absolutely horrible.

Course in very poor condition; fairways burned from lack of water, greens recently punched and sanded unevenly so that large sand areas cover most greens.

Green full of pot marks and holes, resulting in putts wobbling instead of rolling.

Very disappointing from previous outings...

Fairways and greens were horrible - some of the worst conditions on any golf course I have played. Surprising in that the last time I played here they were very good - went downhill fast

The last time I played there was over 10 years ago. Yesterday, greens were in terrible shape dirt spots, sandy conditions just bad shape. Bunkers were not even playable. Grass in traps ,just very bad shape. Such a great layout gone to waste.

Have played this course 5 times since December. Seemed a little rough this past time. Greens were dried out and dead in spots. Still a good course. Will play again. Just kinda lost some of it's shimmer from the first time I played it.

So sad to see this course falling apart. Greens are horrible. The ground is so uneven, the golf carts are bustung apart from banging around so much. This is ine of my favorite courses to play, please, someone give that place some TLC.

Great lay, unbealivable views on Florida’s only mountain course, but needs lots of maintenance. Owners selling and in an effort to save money, the course itself is suffering with neglect. A true shame.

This course has incredible views and holes, but the maintance on the course is crap. Greens had more weeds than grass, tee boxes were the same. It looks like they just gave up. If this was a nicer maintained course it would be one of my Top 5 in Central Florida, because of the holes, hills and views on this course.

The hills that this course is placed in makes for interesting elevation change and course layout. My playing partner and I were drawn to this course by the lure of elevation change, but would have struggled to get around the 18 holes without having been paired with a couple of course regulars. On about half of the holes the green is not visible from the tee box and many drives are blind. The guys we were paired with had a shortcut for almost every hole with a dog leg. They would say "just hit over those trees and the ball will roll down to the green."

This course made for an interesting round of golf. I'm sure it would be better without sand covered, recently punched greens. I'll go back in a month or two, if the price doesn't go up.
