Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club

This could be a five star course as the terrain is awesome, but it looks like it hasn't seen water in months.

I drove about 35 miles well worth the trip lots of elevation changes,holes well protected this course is really unique for Florida with the changes in Elevation will go back soon.

Played as a single following a bunch of 4-somes so spent a lot of times between shots. But hey, that is expected when you play as a single! Greens were the best ones I've played since my arrival in Florida in late December (4 other courses to compare to). Traps were ok but were washed out on some of the steeper up-slopes. Very nice layout!! Lots of elevated tee boxes and great views. Drove THRU the green on 300 yard 10th hole ...didn't realize the steep down slope at about 250 yards was there. Ball caught the down slope and rolled through the guys on the green. Maybe need a sign to make sure players are off the green before you hit.

Situated on a VERY interesting piece of property, Sanctuary Ridge offers very few flat lies and many challenging shots. Unfortunately, the foursome behind us was OK with hitting into us even though the course was backed up with absolutely no place to go. Aside from that frustration, and the group just ahead of us hitting multiple balls on virtually every hole, the course itself is a keeper and the staff couldn't be nicer. (We've found no Marshalls on Florida courses, but that would definitely help eliminate days like yesterday.)

Creative and challenging layout. Fabulous views. Greens and fairways in great shape but the traps were full of deep footprints and no rakes in sight. Pace a bit slow. Waited often at the tees. Otherwise a perfect day of golf. A 1 hour drive but will go again.

(PS - not crazy about the outhouse. Hope that is on the list for replacement with a real biffy)

We enjoyed the layout, vistas and condition of the course. However, play was very slow, 4:50, waited on nearly every shot. Fee included a "meal". We finished our round after 5PM, the restaurant was closed, no food and no refund for meal. The lady at the bar did offer to SELL us a beer.

If you find the traditional Florida course with pushed up mounds a little boring, go play Sanctuary Ridge. The bunkers on this course are very unique. They have a very rustic look to them, but they have a good amount of sand and very little, if any, rocks. There are no rakes, so make sure the group plans ahead with an understanding that you should get a fair lie.

The green were very nice and had some good pace and a lot of slope in some places.

The course was a little rough on the edges. If you find yourself off the fairways, you will get some pretty bad lies. The golf carts are horrible. Older gas models with no windshields.

The staff was friendly, but in fairness I'm related to one of the starters.

The slope rating is pretty low and I would say it's pretty accurate. There is a lot of room to miss without worrying about losing your ball or hitting a house.

This will never be the nicest course you ever play,, but you will remember the layout and the views are impressive for central Florida.

Great course it took us five hours . Coarse in great condition will be back

Sanctuary Ridge was a lovely course to play, some of the fairways are REALLY bumpy when you drive over them.....and we got snagged up with a slow four ball, but that can happen anywhere I suppose...didn.t see a Marshall about tho. Would play it again.

What a shame that this once beautiful golf course is being let down. Every aspects: fairways, bunkers and greens are in poor condition.

In general the course is in good shape the greens were fast and rolled nice they are not flat like most FLA. course so need to be on the right spot

No service at all. Pulled up at 11 am, no carts. Walked into golf shop, 3 guys sitting back there joking and carrying about, felt like we were bothering them or interfering with their fun. Went back out, no started, no ranger. Basically went off on our own. The pace was horrible because there were 4somes behind 3 groups of 2somes who followed another 4some. The 2some in front of us had another guy jump in with them on the back nine?? Finally we just left after 14 holes. It's a shame because with the layout and much better management, this could be a nice track.

I have been playing the course for last 15 years.

We played this course in 2015 on our annual golf trip and all liked it. We were pretty disappointed in it this year and plan to take it off the list. There were 16 of us. The starter had a real attitude and made no effort to make us feel welcome. We started late due to some delays at the course. We found maintenance pretty poor with potholes near cart paths, steps in disrepair and the clubhouse was being renovated. Got the feeling the course on a downhill slide. The hilly course with some gimmicky holes was interesting but the rest not

Staff welcoming fantastic. Started playing, thinking I had too be a goat to play this round. However when I got playing such a hilly course,I started to enjoy the round. But be aware it's hilly. No comments on club house,it was being redecorated. Not my type of course to revisit JN UK
