Spring Valley Golf Course

Spring Valley is a nice public course near San Jose. Pluses are the area, surrounded by foothill,, its very quiet, and a serene setting. Pretty good shape, fairways are a little thin, but it is the start of fall, and we have not had any rain.

Greens are perfect. Layout is a challenge. Leave the driver in the bag on some par 4’s or make sure you hit it straight. Great food in the restaurant and the staff is friendly.

We played on a weekday afternoon in 4 hours. The course was in good shape, weather was great, and there was no one in front of our group. What more can you ask for?

Overall, Spring Valley is a wonderful course. The grounds were in excellent condition. Greens were fair and true, and the fairways were in great shape. It's a great course for a high handicap/recreational player.

Only one issue with our round: the pace of play. It was S-L-O-W! To be fair to Spring Valley, it was the weekend, but our threesome (all high handicap players) had to wait at every tee box for the group ahead of us to finish. Every hole. After observing other groups, this was definitely a course-wide issue.

I would definitely play Spring Valley again, just probably not on the weekend.

The pace of play was rough today. Lots of groups too closely together. Other than that, it was great!

The course is in really good condition. There are not many hazards, and the only trouble I got into were wayward drives into the trees which cost a shot on the scorecard. The fairways are fairly wide open, and the greens are fair. The course is in the Milpitas Foothills, and the slope must be taken into consideration on some holes.

Did everyone decide to play golf that day I think so. Over 5 hours for a round of 18. I saw Fivesomes on the tee and knew right away it will be bad. The greens are bumpy and the ball was bouncing left and right. Pollen count was through the roof so everybody was sneezing. I suggest playing M through Thu if you want to keep your sanity.

Played this course decades ago, yet remembered how nice it was then. Glad to see it’s still a fine course. Overall very good course, didn’t care for the greens though. Greens were hard and difficult to read. Several times my partners and myself would have a good pitch only to see the ball net stick and roll off.

I personally think it’s over priced

I only play there because it’s close to my house and it’s hard to get out further courses for me

12-14 handicap will have a good time..greens are tricky but fair... Chris is great in Clubhouse

Pretty fun little course. Greens were in great condition, fairways were nice as well. Played in 4 hr 15 min on Saturday before Christmas, so the pace of play was reasonable. It's a little expensive for the rather basic layout, but I had a great time.

This course is fun to play but nothing to write home about.Greens decent with subtle breaks that roll true,fairways decent and tee boxes fine but just kind of bland.Nothing real challenging just simple straight forward golf wirh some doglegs and a couple of lakes
