Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
About
The Golf Club at Terra Lago boasts two 18-hole courses, the North and the South, that provide some of the most stunning and unique views of the Coachella Valley. Formerly known as Landmark Golf Club, it was home to the PGA Tour Skins Game from 1999 to 2002, which meant it has hosted a slew of big-name players including Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Terra Lago's North Course is the longer of the two at 7,060 yards, which is partly a reflection of the dramatic elevation changes that the golf course tumbles across. From the seventh tee box's lofty perch, you'll get a panoramic view from one end of the valley to the other, making it the golf course's most scenic hole. But it's most challenging is a daunting par 3 with an island green that was the featured hole during the Skins Games.

Tee off at the 3rd hole, North course Photo submitted by jennifersings on 04/22/2013
Poor condition for the money
Course used to be much better shape , bunkers not cleaned out. Course looked to be under construction just not up to the price charged
Bad Experience
When we checked in at the Pro Shop, we were told that the carts must be returned by 5:00 pm. This should be noted at the time you book your tee times. At 4:45 pm a marshal came driving up to our tee box and informed us we were done. There was at least 45 more minutes of daylight that we could have played, allowing us to finish our round. In addition to stopping play at 4:45, the course was so stacked that we literally waited on every hole. At times there were two foursomes waiting on the tee box and not just on the Par 3’s.
Good outting
Had a good time on the North course. Golf score was not great but the challenge, where every stroke counts, I really enjoyed.
Course is in great shape!! Greens are fast and bunkers are decent. Got my moneys worth. Will be going back!!
Good track
Needs some work but not much.. bunkers need more sand.. layout is super cool through the badlands some lies are squirrely but it’s desert golf.
I really liked the layout
Good Course… So So Conditions
Reading some of the reviews we were a bit nervous to play here. It’s one of the most interesting golf courses in the area due to elevation changes and design. The conditions are not as good as most courses in the area but it is still quite playable. Sand traps were dirt and greens were hard which makes it very difficult to get approach shots close as greens are usually elevated with numerous sand traps in play.
Staff were friendly and the overall experience was good despite a few issues. One oddity is the driving range closes at noon - not good when you arrive early for your afternoon tee to warm up. They block off access to the range at that time but the blocked path also leads to the 10th hole. What the bleep! So we had to drive around the stupid blockade. Lots of new housing developments around the course so there is incentive to maintain and improve things.
With the exception of the starter, staff was not very cordial or interested in assisting players. Due to construction you have to meander through the parking lot and rides to get from the 9th to the 10th hole, unfortunately there are no signs directing you.
We had a 1 pm tee time , at 4:45 we had 3 holes to play, when the cart’s GPS instructed us that carts were to be returned by 5PM. Sunset was 5:30, not sure why carts needed to be returned so early?. With no before hand notice that this was a requirement.
The course was in great condition and overall very challenging.
Terra Lago North
Spectacular! One of the most beautiful courses in the Coachella Valley. Rye grass greens fast and difficult with subtle line changes. Fairways A+ condition; primary rough not overly gnarly. Very enjoyable. Wind teaches lesson.
Djd
No Grass/No Food
Was disappointed in how little grass there was on the fairways, The greens were also pretty bald.
Most frustrating, however, was making the turn at 12:30 and trying to get a sandwich. Was told to come back in one hour!!! At 12:30???? Really???
Won't come back.
Makings of a beauiful Day
We played the north course behind two 5 ball groups.
Although they were fairly talented . I noticed them putting several balls taking way too long on the greens.
I have played for many years and noted deliberate slow play I accepted that . Finally had a chance to jump on the North Course it was empty and after 7 painful holes
enjoyed a relaxing few holes until the cart went dead ,I drove it backwards to limp it to the ninth hole where it completely died . Walked in from there and left my Wife with the Bags on the Roadside. I advised the Pro shop this had been my second time with a dead Cart. waiting to see if the might allow a next play discount we;ll see.
Played very early in the morning. The course has very sparse and inconsistent fairway grass on all holes. Greens are very bumpy and slow.
Played twice over 1 week and one cart got a flat tire, the second one had a GPS that did not work. A disappointing experience overall, with the exception of the starters. They were very friendly and helpful. The place has lots of potential but falls short at this time.
just curious, sounds like staff was rude, you said pace of play was brutal and 3 foursomes per hole. didn't finish round even though daylight. What other courses have you played that these categories rate average or higher? i want to make sure i avoid them
