About
Redhawk Golf Club is one of California's 10 best public courses. Located on the outskirts of San Diego in Temecula, the course is home to one of the southern California's only island greens. The layout is challenging no matter what your skill level but it is still immensely enjoyable. The golf course features dramatic elevation changes, narrows fairways that demand accuracy, and multi-tiered greens that are well conditioned. There is ample water on the course but its use feels natural rather than arbitrary. The numerous strategically placed bunkers are equally as challenging, if not more so than the water hazards. Every club in the bag will see some use at Redhawk Golf Club. From the elevated tees, golfers can enjoy views of the surrounding vineyards for some scenic respite from this formidable test.

Better in warm weather
I always forget this course has Bermuda fairways that turn to mud and duck poop in the winter months. In warm weather this course is the bomb...great layout ...greens were in great shape but speed varied from green to green.

Redhawk GC is in TERRIBLE CONDITION
The fairways were in terrible condition. There was no grass, not even dormant grass. They have had lots of rain but other courses in Temecula have plenty of fairway grass. The fairways were like dirt and mud. No tuffs of grass to hit off of, you couldn't even find grass or something like it anywhere around you. I asked one of the greenskeepers where is the grass and he said they put grass seed down. Even if it washed away with the rains, that is no excuse for the poor condition. No one should play this course until summer!

No again for a long time!
I've played this course many times and was very disappointed with the recent round. I brought 2 friends from the East and was bragging about the course all week. Due to the previous rains the course was very muddy and sloppy. It was cart path only. This I understand is out of their control, however, there was a 2 hour frost delay that would have benefited greatly to know. Many courses inform their reserved players of this using today's technology. We could have made other arrangements. Pace of play was a joke, didn't finish in the 5 hours we had. 2 groups ahead of us appeared to be holding a training class, waited on every shot/hole.

Poor Course Conditions
This could have been a nice course to play but the course conditions were very poor. There's no grass on the fairways, pretty much just dirt grounds. You cannot just blame the rain and wet conditions. They just didn't maintain it. We played by a nearby course a little further up north and the course conditions were much much better (like day and night).

Redhawk Fairways
I played on Wednesday, 1-25-23,. The driving range mats were brand new and great for warmup. The fairways were absolutely dead! No grass, brown and mostly dirt. They obviously did not overseed with rye but you could not move your ball within a 10 foot circle and find grass to hit from. I asked a golf course worker and asked where is the grass? He said they put grass seed down. They have had lots of rain as the fairways looked like rivers flowed over them. Until they grow grass in the fairways, you should not play this course. Terrible condition!
I love these reviews, the course explained they had a lot of rain and washed stuff away. they still felt the need to tell people not to play. I play Redhawk every week and they were hit hard with the rain. The entire crew is working as hard as they can to make it better.

This course has wide open fairways
This is one of my favorite course, unfortunately this time of year the course as all courses in so cal are in distress, the fairways were bare and muddy,the greens were in great shape,as usual the staff was friendly, also they installed new Matt's at the driving range.
Overall pace of play was ok,it was a nice day of for golf.

Not Great Now
I have always considered RedHawk a good course to play. Challenging, but won’t kill you; nice layout; fair greens. The course condition as of Jan 23 is below average. Seems like they were hit hard by the rains. The fairways were washed-out, muddy, and look like they will need extra seeding this Spring. Honestly, I would wait until Summer before I’d play it. Hate to leave a review like this, but golfers should know before you go….especially when you’re paying $80-90 to play a course in this condition.

Worst course conditions
The course was missing grass on most holes with some holes with 59 square yards of dirt/mud. I am not coming back
I played the same day and I understand that Redhawk got over 6 inches of rain. So I am willing to give them a break. As things dry out Redhawk will be great to bad this guy will miss out.
Only played 9 holes
Any chance of getting a credit. It was cart path only and it took too long to play 9 holes and I paid for 18.
They did give rain checks if you purchased the round at Redhawk. They said to send GolfNow an email and you would do the same. They will confirm I was there if you call them.

Greens were slow but attributed to rains for last week cart path only took 5 hrs

Challenging but Fun Course
This was a fun little course. I would ask for a book with hints on each hole. On #1, do NOT hit driver unless you can hit it straight. The front 9 is pretty tight, while the back is much easier. I came on a morning after rain, so it was cart path only and my shot always seemed to be opposite the cart path. The greens were in great condition. Would definitely play it again and play it differently.

Bummer
Our guys golf group (24 players) played here for the second year in a row. When we made the reservation months out they told us there was a chance for a long round because we were going to be in between two other tournaments. Fine, no big deal. It was a long round. After 6+30 hours on the course some of our guys definitely had too many cocktails and were super loud at the clubhouse. Absolutely happened. But let’s be real, the loudest person in the room was their bartender! Anyway, our group was asked to not come back for slow play which is egregious. We were on the groups ahead of us the entire day. Very disappointing. Grip it n Sip it will take our 32 people this year elsewhere. Your events guy was super rude and not easy to deal with too.
