Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Not worth the money

The course is not worth the money. Greens had been punched recently and were like a wash board. Staff at the pro desk not friendly at all. Staff at the drink counter were fantastic. Having paid the 157.00 for the round I was extremely disappointed. Will not return.

This golf course is my favorite.

The course is a favorite of mine. I usually play this course in February on a golf trip. I was here for a vacation and wanted to play it in warm weather. The tees and fairways are excellent. The greens were one week out from aerification. They have recovered very well and will be great in another week but I love this course and would play it any chance I get. The staff is always great and takes very good care of you.

Terrible Customer Service

Alright. For two consecutive years, Jim's (Guy in the clubhouse) treatment of our group at the clubhouse has been abysmal. It's baffling how he manages to hold onto his job. If you delve into our past reviews, you'll notice similar grievances from last year. As I highlighted in last year's review, our group has been visiting Destin for 41 years. We consist of 9 to 12 golfers who play every day while in town and aim to play Kelly at least 2 to 3 times during our stay—it's one of our preferred courses. However, due to the poor service we've endured during our last two rounds, we've made the decision to take our business elsewhere. Regatta or Indian Bayou will now be our go-to choices, as we've never encountered such issues there.
