Kelly Plantation Golf Club

Ok. First off I hate to write a bad review on any course but I have never experienced anything like our group did today. Our group has been coming to Destin over 40 years and we play golf everyday. I book the tee times well in advance of our arrival each year. When I called the pro shop to book tee times for our group I was informed that the greens would be punched but the rate would be $99 both days. I called the day before our first day to confirm our tee times and again I was told it would be $99 both days. When we arrived to play our first rounds on Monday we payed $99 and was again told Thursday would be $99. When we arrived today Jim, the guy working the pro shop charged us $145. I then told him I was told three different times that it would be $99. He told us it was out of his hands, and if we didn’t like it would could go play somewhere else. I am sorry but that is when I got really upset. But being we had a three groups it would have been impossible to get three tee times at another course. The bad service continued with one of the cart guys outside. He had some rude comments as we were loading our carts. The starter was a lot friendlier than the other staff members. I wish I could say that was end of our bad experience but about hole 8 the grounds crew started sanding the greens. I am sorry but $150 for sanded greens is unacceptable. We also never seen a cart girl the entire round. We were told she would start at 8:00. Again I hate to leave a bad review because we have never had a bad experience here. But with the way we were lied to and treated today, I doubt our group will ever be back. We will gladly take our money to the club a few miles up the road every year.

Great layout forcing you to hit golf shots. Aerated greens but that’s just course maintenance. Wish I had played prior to aeration.

Course was in excellent shape. We did know that the greens had been aerated which was not an issue for us. Will golf there again this summer.

Great course. Yes greens were aerated but anyone who played this week should of been aware of that. It says it on Golf Now and the guys at bag drop even let us roll the practice green before we went in to pay, just to make sure we were ok with it. Course layout although not considered hard, is definitely challenging. We played other courses this week as well and Kelly Plantation in my opinion is the best semi private course in the area.

Arriving at Kelly Plantation we were greeted by very friendly staff who gladly took our bags and put them on carts. They guys in the pro shop were very welcoming to our group. The course is in great shape, every fairway is immaculate. Greens were punched but they roll decent for being in that conduction. Layout is awesome and fun no matter what your handicap is. We had guys in our group range from 3 to 20 to give you an idea. We played in about 4 hours and 15 minutes and we’re never told to speed it up.

I really don’t know what some of these reviews are talking about, especially with the staff being unfriendly, this is a fantastic course that gave us a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

7/10 upset about the greens and being aerated. If I would have known this I would not of played. Should have called first and asked. Worth the money if not.

Great conditions, superb layout, played in under 4 hours. Not really sure what else you could ask for.

First time golfing this course, I must say BEST course in this area. Scenary was thumbs-up. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were well groomed. Greens were fast but didn't take long to figure that out. Pace of play was slow but all in all a great day o. the course.

Overall the course was in excellent shape. Greens rolled smooth, with moderate to fast pace. Course layout was nice, definitely one of the better courses in the area.

Great layout with all the ingredients for challenging and fun golf! My go to course whenever I visit. Enjoy a crisp cold apple on 10 tee box. Visit the restaurant after your round.

Terrific course conditions and lay out, hot all clubs, nice variety of holes, played in 3 3/4 hours, nice range, putting green and short game area including bunkers. Great round!

Excellent fairways and greens, greens were quick and rolled smooth, wide fairways but plenty of hazards to think your way around, not really worth the money but no course around Destin really is but it’s a nice course to play.

Definitely worth the price if you like private country club golf. That's what this public course feels like. Very friendly, service oriented, organized, efficient and course itself is beautiful and in great condition.
