Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Florida Valentine vacation

Our visit to Kelly Plantation was fantastic! The golf course is in wonderful condition and offers a great challenge to all levels of players. The General Manager Ashton Crowe, PGA greeted us with a big welcome and took care of all our questions and made our visit top notch! This is definitely a course we will play again and again!

Best in Destin!

Have played here for many years as a snowbird and it’s still the best. Greens are a little challenging, but layout is great and play is managed very well. Great practice facilities. Friendly staff at all levels. Highly recommended.

Slow play hampered a nice round

Our tee time was 10:54 and we were a twosome. The other two in the party did not show. We knew we would wait some but every hole was a bit much. The greens were super fast and frustrating. The staff were very nice and helpful. Loved the apples available at the turn.

Slightly above average

Maybe time of year but course wasn’t in the best of shape. Greens were painted I guess because they were crunchy. Rolled pretty good but the grain didn’t hold true. I’d like another go when the grass has grown in properly. Staff was great. They were running a pretty busy day like clock work.
