Formerly home to a turpentine plantation, the site now offers one of the most environmentally sensitive courses in northwest Florida, Kelly Plantation. The golf course sits along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, sprawling across a waterfront landscape of towering trees and swampy bayous. The course features large, contoured greens and wide, manicured fairways that are in excellent condition but can also be tricky to navigate. The strategically placed hazards also require some careful maneuvering. In addition to being a challenging round, the golf course is also known for its stunning scenic appeal. Throughout the layout, golfers can enjoy panoramic views across the bay to the abundant magnolias and palmettos that are native to Florida's northwest region. For these reasons, Kelly Plantation has received high praise from publications such as Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

Overpriced like everything in Destin

Kelly plantation is nice, not very challenging, but nice. But it’s not almost $200 nice! All of the golf courses in Destin are colluding to drive up the price because ignorant tourists keep paying them!

To the tourists on here, thanks for ruining any chance at playing courses in Destin for us common folk, unless it’s an extreme hot deal.

Locals, boycott these places until they get a reality check and realize their courses aren’t worth anywhere near what the fees currently are

As a local, there are many options at less than half this price that I would rather play. The course was in decent shape but not nearly what you would expect for the price. It is a novelty for tourists, locals generally stay away.

Great course

Friendly range Marshall kind of gave us free reign as it was a slow day in December. Let us hit range balls well after our tee time as there was no one behind us. That was nice. We didn’t see anyone until we caught up to a few 4somes on the back nine. All course crew and grounds crew pulled over and were respectful when crossing your field of view. Nice pro shop. I was impressed on the condition the course was in in mid December.
