Beautiful afternoon round and a great value

I’ve played Cinnabar probably a dozen times and it’s always in fantastic shape. This particular day was special for 3 reasons. The weather was spectacular. I got a great deal through GolfNow . I got to experience my son’s first round at Cinnabar Hills. It was a very warm afternoon, about 86 when we teed off in a late October round. A slight breeze was just cooling enough. The staff was great and the after round beer was ice cold. Truly a sensational day (except for the way I played) but was a blast anyway. We’ll be back often.

Always a great time at Cinnabar Hills

Wasn’t too crowded the day we played so did not really see the group ahead or behind us all day. Course has some challenging holes and is very entertaining regardless of the combination you play. I’ve played two rounds here and have been able to play all three sets of nines, so far like mountain the best. Course conditions are very good, greens are smooth and medium quick. Their grill is very good and the staff are super friendly. Can’t wait to come back to play again!

Challenging and amazing

This course was challenging just as my friends advised.

I have played a lot of course in N.Cal including Pebble Beach and I rank Cinmabar high on my list as one of the best courses in N. Cal. Great lay out and well taken care of.

Loved the vast difference between the Mountain course and the Lake course. I highly recommend Cinnabar.

How golf should be

Cinnabar Hills is the standard of Joe a public GC should be built and run. Challenging holes, well conditioned grass, and proper amenities. When done, a golfer low or high HC, feels they had a great day and worth the price. In the SF Bay Area, every common prairie course is arrogantly charging $80-$90 on the weekends. However at roughly $25 more than average ($110) Cinnabar Hills provides a golf experience that is 2 or 3 TIMES better! So good that I gladly pay it, again and again, but I wouldn't dream of paying $80 at the ones that don't even try. One critique would be that they could step the food up a bit. It is not bad by any means/ better than most in fact. But, it could stand taller along side the great golf, to complete a perfect day. And instead of a fairly quiet club house dining room, I think they would instantly see the buzz of people sticking around and spending more while they indulge after a beautiful round...

Great course in South Bay

Course is in good condition. Fairways have some type of infection growing but only on a select few of holes. The amount charged is equivalent to the type of course played. I enjoy the canyon side more but the mountain nine was not bad in any sense. The greens set the course apart. Quick, not unfair, and they hold the line of putts. I enjoy the course enough to come back and play again when I get the chance. This is a course all avid golfers should play while in the South Bay relative to green fees. Just don’t expect resort style service before or after round

Golf Gem of the Bay Area

Arguably the best public course in the Bay Area, always kept in wonderful condition. They have 27 holes so the pace of play is well managed, particularly on weekdays. Greens are always in great condition, fast and true. Bunkers are in good shape, unlike most other courses these days that always seem to be revamping their bunkers 5 years too late. All around it's my favorite course in the area, and my friends and family that visit from out of state all agree.

Cinnabar is always a good day

Pro shop Staff is typical attitude, golf club guys, basically congenial, but not friendly.i always enjoy the course but last few rounds, tee boxes are very poor condition and greens were slow and bumpy (assuming the latter) because of the breast the greens were left softer/ longer, don't know. Equally as fun is having Holly be trending the clubhouse bar. She works so hard to take care of everyone there and has a super positive/ friendly attitude. Rounds out a great day of golf.

Fun holes to play

Course was well layed out. With great help from the GPS on the golf cart you had knowledge of distance every shot. Some great features for every hole. Would definitely play again.

Deteriorated conditions

Cinnabar always has the best greens , public or private. For some reason they let their tee boxes get overwelmed with weeds, very unusual , since they are usually great. People havent been fixing divots, and for whatever reason neither has the groundskeepers

Talcum Powder sand traps

Played last Saturday, golf was great, I love this course got to play Mountain and Canyon. I had a little bit of bunker issues on the Mountain course, the sand was a lot softer than I have seen before. Of course the best thing to do is avoid the bunkers in the first place. Only saw the cart attendent twice, on hole 4 and then 17. So make sure you stop at the snack bar at the turn. Greens were rolling nice, nothing bad to say about Cinnabar Hills!

Awesome facility, but watch out

There is a cop hiding off to the side on the straight (Bailey Rd I believe) right before (or after, if you're leaving Chgc) the twisty mountain roads. Would hate for anyone to ruin their day before/after a round on this wonderful course by getting a ticket.

Course staff is very nice and helpful. Need more ball washers, the ones we did find were well maintained and had relatively clean water which is always a plus.
