About
Opened in 1929, Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana is Orange County's oldest public golf course. It is a challenging layout that has garnered a quite a following over the years. The course features wide fairways and large greens that offer ample room. There aren’t any water hazards a few strategically placed sand traps come into play and there are also mature trees lining the fairways. Golfers will get to practice a variety of different shots on this course. It is player-friendly enough for high-handicappers but there are still some challenges for low handicappers. The excellent condition of the greens and fairways are inviting no matter what your skill level. In addition to the golf course, Willowick also offers a grass driving range and three practice putting greens.

Anarchy
Greens were decent but the course condition as a whole was terrible.
Furthermore the course was full of guys just roaming around playing holes as they find openings between groups.
Paid $40 for this experience and wasn’t even able to finish.

There are many things I love about Willowick. Fair price, close to work and easy access, great practice areas and well kept greens. But what gets me the most about this place, is how great the staff is. They’ve always been more than kind to me, and keep things pleasant. Like last week was my birthday, and you get a free round on your birthday. I worked too late and by the time I got to Willowick there was only an hour and a half of light left. Starter let me enjoy the rest of the day and told me to come back at some point so I can enjoy my full round. That is the type of thing that keeps people like me coming back. Not the free golf, I gladly pay to help keep the doors open! It’s the generosity and fair treatment you get with a smile. Oldest course in Orange County with plenty of history. Let’s make sure Willowick stands for another 100 years!

Terrible Condition
I’ve played Willowick a ton over the years. Last minute decision to play left me with only Willowick as an option. I’ve never seen this course in as bad of shape as it was today. Entire fairways of dirt, potholes everywhere, greens in terrible shape, other golfers picking up golf balls when there on the fringe, and the guy mowing the grass drives over my golf ball on the fairway. Everywhere you drove you felt like you were off-roading. Last time playing willowick.

Terrible condition, but playable
Front nine is in bad shape. Fairways are dirt and dead grass. Back 9 better.
Willowick golf course
Greens in decent shape. Fairways and rough are not too bad but some with drainage problems that was really muddy and your ball could get lost when it’s plugged in front of the green.

Staff is good. Course is ROUGH!
Recommend walking. Course is suited for offroad vehicles.
There appear to be some major drainage issues and there was mud everywhere. Greens were SLOW.
Best feature were the traps... yes you read that right.
18 holes in 3 hours though is not bad.

Terrible Conditions
The grass has not been cut in weeks. there were holes everywhere and large dry spots on the course. One of the bunkers had water pipe sticking out and leaking. On of the holes had a tree branch with a party balloon stuck to it as a flag pin. Absolutely terrible You can tell that the management does not care about their customers

This course need help
Someone needs to check irragation way to much water in the wrong places.
You need a 4 wheeler to drive on the course
No sand in bunkers
Tee boxes need attention
Need I say more almost hit by others balls 5 times wow not a good layout
I know its cheaper than most courses but you get what you pay for at this course.

Not even a decent course for 26 dollars
This course was very bad . But that’s expected at willowick right ? The issue is the cost , there should be no reason this course should be 26 with cart . At best it’s a 15 dollar course with cart .

bad timing
Only the back 9 was open, had to play the back twice but 4somes on 10th backed up.
