Westchase Golf Club

Nice place to play a little wet in places believe it or not. Greens were slow but not too bad. Conditions were fair to good.

Course shut down the entire day due to rain at 9-10pm the night before tee time. No notification. Terrible mismanagement of tee times.

Won't be back for a while.

Finished in 4.5 hours but seemed to wait on every hole. No rangers for pace of play. Most courses in this area are burnt out due to no rain so can't hold that against them. Greens ran true. Love the layout more water that most courses. Nice staff.

Went to play Westchase with a group recently. Pro shop and bar were good. Starter was nice. Layout of the course was solid.

But for $125, the conditions at this course were just awful. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways were more a $60 course condition rather than $125. Greens were generally in good shape and fast, but somewhat inconsistent and not manicured enough for the price. When combined with things like no range balls included and no cooler on pretty average carts, it was just clear that management is not investing in the course.

Overall, I can’t really recommend Westchase versus other options in the area.

I am a regular at Westchase, because it is one of the nicest courses near downtown Tampa, even if it is not the easiest one. Some holes are hard, especially if you are not a long hitter, i.e. #9.

The greens are good and fair even if they show divots marks. They have done a lot of work recently to fix accidentally damaged greens.

Fairways are excellent with regular grass.

They have done a lot of work on the bunkers which had irrigation issues in the past.

A few tee box need some work.

The staff is wonderful.

Course was good. Staff was great. However pace of play was horrible. Wife and I played 4 1/2 hours 2 people. Twosome in front of us then foursome in front of them holding the rest of players up. No ranger to make speed up. Players stacked up behind us while everyone was waiting.

I don’t know who keeps leaving these 5-star reviews, because they seriously need to go try a semi-decent golf course. Westchase is simply not it. I’ve been playing this course off and on for three years now, every-time I play it’s out of convenience, not for quality of golf. Greens are ALWAYS shaggy, bumpy, untrue and unpredictable. Every. Single. Time. I’ve heard people say they have the best greens online and it seriously makes me question the standard of quality in Tampa. For 120 dollars during peak that is absolutely unacceptable. This course is worth at the most, 60 dollars per round. The rough is patchy and the sand is either dirt or weeds. What a ruse.

It’s a fun, yet gimmicky layout due to being in a tight neighborhood.

Pro: The staff are always very nice and accommodating.

Course was in good condition. Fun layout. Would recommend for the price in the area.

I have played this course many times. It has always been my favorite. I understand it has had some problems with drainage. This should probably be addressed by the management. I can work around that, but there was much more weed infringement in the fairways and tee boxes than I have ever seen before. That needs to be addressed if they plan to charge the prices they do.

The course was in good shape with exception of a few greens which appeared to burnt and need some work. Compared to neighboring courses the course fee is on the high side
