Westchase Golf Club
About
Designed by Lloyd Clifton, Westchase winds through acres of lakes, conservation areas and forest. It offers manicured greens surrounded by natural wetlands, wooden bridges and bulkheads. With its 9,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, full-service dining room, and fully stocked pro shop, Westchase offers a country club atmosphere along with first-class service. The golf club has established itself as one of Tampa Bay's best upscale golf facilities. The front nine meander through an impressive pine forest. The back nine -- which is demanding on the tee shot -- features lakes, wetlands and cypress. Strategically placed bunkers, more sparkling lakes and stands of cypress, oak, palmetto and pine frame the fairways and greens. Signature Hole No. 3, at 212 yards from the back tee, is all you can handle -- It's a Par 3 all-carry over water from the back tee!

Best course I played on this trip to Tampa
We had a really nice day out on the course -- it is very scenic - saw alligators and herons and egrets and muskovie ducks.........and the course itself is really pretty. I would definitely play this course again when in the area - it was the nicest of the ones I played on this trip and worth the extra few bucks vs. the others (Eagles - Forest and Clearwater CC).
The greens were mostly very fast -- except that were wetter than others, due to all of the rain the day before. Because the course got 4+ inches of rain the day before, we were understandably restricted to the cart paths, which always has a tendency to impact pace of play. This wasn't much of a problem until the last three holes when I think alcohol may have finally caught up with the group in front of us who just began to do stupid stuff and back up everyone -- frustrating way to end for sure, waiting on every single shot for several minutes the last few holes.
Great course to play!!
Beautiful course. This was my first time playing Westchase and I really enjoyed it. Course conditions (tee to green) were great.
Highly recommend playing it if your in the area.
Ace
My son made a hole in one on 15 to cap off a really nice day. Pace of play could have been better but we were playing golf not shoveling snow so it’s all good.
So So
My first time here and I was a little disappointed. The fairways were in excellent shape. The greens were fast but very thin and worn and relatively hard-got some big bounces off of high approach shots.
Some of the holes are really beautiful-interesting mixture of water and sand on most. Fairways are fairly wide and not a huge challenge to hit. BUT there is dense undergrowth outside the rough. If you hit into it, you will NOT find your ball.
I only play HOT DEALS on GolfNow and at $45, this was overpriced compared to the many $25 fees I can pay on similar golf courses. Lake Jovita is far superior for about the same price, and the greens are in much better condition.
Place to play
Great place to play but just make sure that it’s not busy they should have I have Rangers out on the course
Fantastic
The golf course is in great shape, friendly staff, and good food, all greens are in prime conditions. Fairway also in good shape, some areas wet, but well managed. I really enjoyed my time playing. Definitely will play this golf course again.
Wetter than Expected
Have played here several times before including early last month. Surprised to see course much wetter than expected. Heavy rains 4/5 days ago still lingering and several holes should have been "cart path only" in our opinion. Then to top it off the weather man was wrong again and a storm that was not expected until later in the day showed up on hole # 8 and chased us off after # 12. With heavy rains expected next few days probably won't be very playable for a while.
Still love the course and the people and will be back, but only if it's been dry for a while.
Got in 12
Course was wet but very playable , starter hooked us up with two guys and we became the slow group ! It started to rain on the 8th but not bad so we played on until the 12th then we called it don't know if other guys played on . will book again when nicer !
Enjoyed the Course
First, I called to confirm my reservation on several occassions and was advised my 9:57am tee time was secured. I normally dont call to confirm but I had to adjust the number in my foursome and was notified that the course was hosting a par 3 challenge and I should not have been able to book the tee time via Golf Now. I again called to confirm on Thursday and was asked if I would consider 8:57am which I accepted because the group wanted to play. On Friday I called again and was advised the Par 3 challenge for members was cancelled and I could have my original tee time of 9:57 am and accepted the original time and asked that we be placed with another twosome since two of our party were unavailable. On Saturday, I arrived and was greeted by the friendly staff and informed my tee time was at 8:57am, even after 3 phone calls with the pro shop was unable to maintain the correct time. The staff found an opening even with split tee sheets, although, as I stood in the pro shop they continued to experience tee time issues. The course is a “spot” course and did not require much use of a driver. I enjoyed the company although the pace of play was very slow.
Never disappoints
Westchase is a great course with consistently good conditions. Pace of play is always good and practice area is top notch. My favorite part of this course is the layout. Very fair, yet challenging.
Nice course
great weather great course in great shape this is a course that is needs to be played more ! I'll see what I can do !
Great course
Luv the course. If u don't play this gem u are missing something special.
Great course as always
Westchase is one of the top courses in the Tampa area and always a good challenge to play. Worth the time play there.
Soggy Course
Course layout was excellent; staff was friendly; however, the course conditions were horrible. Majority of the holes in the Lake course were soggy, no roll, ball plugged in the middle of the fairway and it was still hard to find. Wait until it dries out.
Cart Path only
The course is in good condition dipite the fact that we have had so much rain. Nice pace of play and the staff were all very friendly
