About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
The Club West Golf Club offers 18 holes on a Brian Whitcomb-designed golf course that was originally built in 1993 and measures 7,142 yards from the championship tees on a par-72 golf course.
Club West Golf Club claims the 17th as its signature hole. It features double-greens, tees elevated 100 feet above the course and vistas of South Mountain and of the Estrella Mountain Range; players ought to pick the green they desire and then check the yardage. If the wind isn't blowing you back, pick one less club than usual, aim right and swing smoothly.
After the round, head over to the Club West Golf Club's clubhouse, which is the gorgeous home of the Lakeside Grille, which serves breakfast and lunch inside the stunning dining room or on a spacious patio featuring a fireplace and lake view.

Show=Me golfers
Back nine much better than front nine. OK course. Two par 3's on back nine very interesting.
Not to be missed
Our entire group will definitely return to Club West. The course was fun to play. The views were fantastic. Even moving from green to tee was a scenic adventure. The par 3's on the back nine are perfect.
The course is in great condition. We wondered about the greens but they ran true.
Enjoy!
Excellent Value for the Money
Nice neighborhood course. Excellent value. Nice setting on the patio of the restaurant.
Nice Course
Enjoyed the round. Would play this course again. Friendly staff.
Relief From Ohio Winter
We played course for first time in Feb. We enjoyed the course, staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. Greens were not in a condition as we are used to playing on! Pace of play was just under 5 hours, primarily due to last three holes which are more challenging. We would play again.
5-some reasons to call ahead
Booked day of with several tee times to choose from between 11:10 3-2-11:50. Arrived on time, hit some puts and was sent to the first tee after the starter informed us that we (a twosome) would be playing behind a "fivesome"). The round itself was 4:30 minutes- acceptable for a Sunday- but on several tee shots we waited upwards of 8minutes from arrival at the tee until we were clear to hit.
If booking day of- maybe call ahead and see how the tee sheet stacks up....
course has great elevation changes
Course is a good layout, had played there many times in the past. The pace of play was terrible, there was no marshal and we had wait times of 5-10 minutes on each tee box. On the 17th par 3 there were 3 groups waiting on tee box. The bunkers have no sand and very hard pan underneath.
Great course for your money
Played with friends and members for a fantastic round
Greens need a little work but overall great course
Good layout
Very good course for the money. A good amount of water hazards. Could use more sand in the hazards.
Very enjoyable course to play
I had heard the course had been not in good shape the past few years. However, for me the course was is good playable shape. The new owners seem to be taking pride in improving the condition of the course. A very friendly layoff. Course shape sets up well for the average golfer.
Some Improvement
Haven't played here in 6-8 years since all I heard was how badly the course was conditioned. It's gotten better but still has a ways to go!
Most fairways are fine. One-third of the greens are ratty. The "rough" is hard panned in many areas. The bunkers need tons of sand! That being said, it's still an interesting layout.
I do temper my recommendation to play dependent on the price. I paid $39. That's fine. But to pay the 60-70+ I've seen online is sinful.
great conditions ,wonderful staff
Arrived on wrong day of tee time! Staff still got us out early. Had a great time with the spectacular views and course conditions I will be back!
fun course
Could use a course map on the card. Need to hit the ball straight off the tee. Fun course to play.
Good value but has seen better days
This started out as the home course for Mark Calcavecia but has changed ownership a couple of times since. Conditions were good and much better than a year ago. Staff is always friendly. A couple of disappointments...driving range is in a pit so it closes after every rain, and it was noticeably difficult to find yardage markers along the way. I didn't have a gps device so spent a lot of time walking around looking for a sprinkler head that had yardage on it.
Tough test of golf
Wel maintained. Could use a bit more sand in the bunkers. Some narrow driving holes. Great par 3's.
Second time this season
We chose to play this course again as we felt it was in better shape than others in the same price range. It has a wide variety of hole shapes and some nice elevations on the back nine.
Club West - Friday
The course itself was in great shape although the rough was just bare ground. The greens were fast but true. There was a time when this course had grass rough and it was in excellent shape
view
The course has many nice holes but a couple were almost impossible due to the elevation and trees leading up to the fairway/green. Other than those two the rest were more typical public course golfing.
Enjoyable scenery at Club West!
Club West is always one of my favourite courses in Phoenix. They have some fun holes and lots of nice scenery, especially the par 3's, #15 and #17. The course conditions are okay, a few rough greens but overall not bad. Nice staff, the driving range isn't that great, poor balls on the range. Course is not that difficult, but you can make some big numbers on a few holes if you miss the fairways especially #12. Will come back for sure!
