About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019.
The Club West Golf Club offers 18 holes on a Brian Whitcomb-designed golf course that was originally built in 1993 and measures 7,142 yards from the championship tees on a par-72 golf course.
Club West Golf Club claims the 17th as its signature hole. It features double-greens, tees elevated 100 feet above the course and vistas of South Mountain and of the Estrella Mountain Range; players ought to pick the green they desire and then check the yardage. If the wind isn't blowing you back, pick one less club than usual, aim right and swing smoothly.
After the round, head over to the Club West Golf Club's clubhouse, which is the gorgeous home of the Lakeside Grille, which serves breakfast and lunch inside the stunning dining room or on a spacious patio featuring a fireplace and lake view.

Much better condition than summer for sure.
Course looks great, overall very nice fairways. Some greens are a little spotty but doesn't affect play. Nice restaurant. Dedicated chipping green. Bev cart service is a little slow. This time we played pace of play was very slow, we quit after 9 holes / 2.5 hours because we figured we would not have time to get done and get ready for dinner later.
Slow, slow, slow
Nice track and driving range, both in reasonable condition, except for the sand traps which were hard a nail because they did not have any sand.
There is no excuse a the round to take 5 hours and 15 minutes. The group in front of us went to the pro shop at the turn and asked for a marshal to speed play. No marshal; same slow pace. 3 groups on a Par 5 is OK, but 3 groups on the tee on a par 3 - never. When we finally finished at 5:10 PM the bar and food services were closed. What are they thinking?
Not what we expect for a $65 Golf Now discounted price.
We will not be back
Very Arizona
Really loved this course. With views of the Saguaros and nestled up against South Mountain, this is what my friends from out of state we're picturing when they came out to play some Arizona winter golf. Please add a little more water stations on the course. Other than that, we loved it and will be back.
GREAT COURSE
GREAT CONDITION, FAST GREENS, SENIORS PLAY WHITE TEE BUT CAN STILL ENJOY MORE OF A CHALLENGE BY PLAYING BLUE TEE.
A PAR THREE WITH TWO GREENS
Course is in good shape with good rolling greens. This test of golf offers bunkers, doglegs, blind shots and elevated tees.It is a very good value if you can play for $50.00 or less.I have played a few times and will play again.
Slow play
Don't ever expect to play a 4 hour round on this course. We have experienced over 5++ before.
Great course for the money
First time I have played the course but hopefully it won't be my last. It's a challenge without being so difficult that most level of players wouldn't enjoy playing. Love how the course had been carved out of the desert - beautiful views. Some interesting hole layouts - #17th in particular. Staff were friendly. Highly recommend the course.
Try It Out
Great course in fabulous condition. Nice layout especially on the back 9 with the elevated tees.
Desert golf is fun.
Elevated tee boxes are fun and have great views. The par 4s are not long but most are up hill so still a challenge. Par 5s are interesting with fairways cut by washes and guarded greens. This is a hidden gem of a course just south of Phoenix. Easy to get to. Just go enjoy the course and club house.
Good value
This course was recommended to us by someone who lives in the area. We all enjoyed our rounds, finding the course to be in good shape and a good value especially considering it to be the 'high' season. We all enjoyed the 17 hole which is challenging and well designed. A great track for the price with great views.
Great day; Great golf!
The course was in good shape. We had a great day! I shot a 78; I was thrilled.
Great elevation changes
Playing time needs to be improved. Did not see a course Marshall. Bunkers need improvements
Good bang for the buck
Course was in very playable shape. It must have been snowbird couples day which made the pace of play extremely slow, but the day was so beautiful, we just enjoyed ourselves anyway.
Great place to play
The course was very interesting and in excellent condition. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will certainly go back again
A great golf day!!
It was a great golf day. (But aren't they all?) My brother and I were entertaining a good friend and business partner visiting from Chicago. He raved about the course and it's challenges. It's beauty, the views and the maintenance. Afterwards, he called his wife and is trying to convince her to come here for their anniversary so that he can play it again. The staff as always is very professional. Historically one of my personal favorite courses. I look forward to coming back again soon. RK
Let it rain
The course is an excellent layout with great views. The greens were rolling 10+. Had a tournament in the morning so we played in 5 hours. The other issue, it is as dry as a bone. It needs water badly and can't image the shape it will be in come summer. There is no attention to the grounds and maintance needs to cut back trees and brush. Bar closed at 5:00
Scenic Holes at CW!
Second time playing Club West on this trip. Overall, it's a good course. Very scenic and good variety of holes, some easy and some more challenging. Course is in fairly good shape, a few rough spots, but fairly good overall. Favourite holes are #7, 8, 15, 17 and 18. Hole 12 is very quirky. Overall A.
Club west
Good course-- sometimes priced too high, but has some nice Golf Now deals occasionally.
Practice round
1st time playing this course lot of challenging holes....some nice view from top of the hills. Two par 3 holes that will make you think.
