Golfer Reviews
Worth the money
Beautiful course, fairways are thick and healthy, greens are fast and amazing, views are Beautiful, pull up staff took our clubs out of the car loaded it into the cart, golf cart had tees towels GPS and very comfortable, free range balls has a chipping green and two putting greens, cart girls are very good looking and showed up 7 times Id say so man best course ive played in the valley so far
Fairways were really nice and the course has beautiful views. Only problem was the greens because they were very hard and a little bit beat up but overall not that bad. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely come back when the price drops a little bit.
Beautiful Setting
The course was challenging for me but it has some beautiful scenery that distracted me from my frustration.
Foothills Fun
The Foothills is a great course in Ahwatukee. The views are wonderful. Needs more evening happy hour after golf atmosphere to enjoy sunset on patio with drinks food and entertainment etc.
Greens
All the reviews I've read said greens firm but putt true They are firm, however they don't putt true. Lots of places on greens that overseed didn't come in. Hence, you're putting on some overseed and some dormant bermuda Not a good putting surface. Tees and fairways OK.
Foothills has really stepped up its game
With Troon taking over management of Desert Foothills, one can expect a much better playing experience than ever before. The greens are a bit slow and hard to hold but fairways are green and nicely manicured. Time of play for 18 holes was 4:15. Value was good as the cost was $120 which is about average for an above average experience. Staffing was friendly and helpful.
Not what I expected from a troon course
The course is in somewhat better condition from last year and much better than years prior. Carts now have GPS don't remember that from last year. Greens are slow due to them being new also won't hold a shot as they are still hard. fairways and tees were in good condition. Again, its the non-course stuff that's an issue. The starter was friendly enough but failed to tell us there was no cart girl on the course (after round manager said there was, but she was invisible to our foursome for the entire round. At the turn couldn't buy anything guy said computer was down, didn't even offer a bottle of water and it was a hot day. Again manager after said there was water on the course but we didn't see any. Not at restrooms. Need to make them more prominent or have starter advise where they are, Cart attendant was good at his job and friendly. Last suggestion. I played with a lady who was a good golfer, but she didn't stand a chance at make par most of the time with the length of the forward tees (over 5K yards). Probably get more JR, Ladies and Seniors if there were some shorter tees, maybe 46 to 48 yds. Just a thought. Love this course but...
Foothills is so back
Course is in very good shape since the renovation. This track is a hidden gem. The only thing you can complain about are the firmness of the greens. They just got done renovating them so they are quite hard BUT they roll very true. For the value this course offers, I’d play it every week.
