A July sunrise tee time at The Foothills GC in Phoenix. Photo submitted by baddfish2 on 12/21/2012
Great course, glad they are fixing greens.
I saw the reviews after booking, but I left it since I cannot find anything else under $100 for the time I wanted. Glad they’re closing for a couple weeks to make repairs to the greens. good on them for making that tough decision. Would love to be back if the price remain the same after reopening.
Foothills G. C.
Tee boxes and fairways were fine. The greens were destroyed. Half the rough areas you played on dirt. This course needs lots of work.
Greens terrible. Fairways marginal. In fairness to Foohills the water well got salt in it and caused considerable damage to the course. They are trying to to restore greens and fairways
Don’t bother playing here
The greens were redone in summer 2024, and was a complete failure. Not one green was playable, dead grass, bumps and gouges, bird poop, etc.
It’ll take at least 6 months before the greens are remotely playable. Check back in May 2025 to see if they’re ready yet, but I wouldn’t count on it.
It’s a shame, nice course, beautiful clubhouse and grounds. Just don’t waste your time playing golf there. I made a tee time 2 months ago and there was NO MENTION of the greens, complete misrepresentation to me, the customer.
Worst greens
Fairways and tee off were nice.
Worst greens i ever seen
Garbage condition, destroying their reputation
Foothills has the chance to be a great course, but they're going to destroy their reputation keeping it open with the greens how they are. They were shut down all summer 2024 for a full greens renovation only to have 70% of every green completely dead and bare sand. At this point just shut down until the greens are playable, and fire the greens keeper.
Great course layout
The greens are in terrible shape. The rest of the course is OK.
Fraud!!!
All the greens have a disease and are, for all intents and purposes, un-playable.
No warning given on GolfNow and no mention when we checked in at the pro shop and no apology when we were finished.
And to add injury to insult, they treated the greens with something blue that is now part of every player's golf shoes.
greens
worst greens i have seen in Phoenix , after my round imentionned that to the staff in the pro shop.
they don't care
greens are garbage
every single green is unplayable, waste of time trying to putt, was not warned when booked, fairways, teeboxes, and rough very inconsistent throughout course, will not be coming back, no wortht $5, let alone the $50 they are charging
Unplayable greens
The greens are not playable, they are painted green and look incredible from a distance but one step on you realize they are in horrible condition.
FOOTHILLS BKR
Your staff was very welcoming and the service was really nice.
The greens have some issues with the missing grass areas and sand used to cover bare spots. This made putting even more of a challenge for sure.
The overall course layout is very scenic and offers up the opportunity for a nice round of golf. If we come back to play we will inquire about the greens prior to making a tee time.
