Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

Great track, play it all the time! They just spayed that day with fertilizer so it was a stinky round no pun intended!!

I booked this round without knowing much about the course. The price was around 200 usd for ambiente side. Good course layout, but the greens were not in the shape I would consider good value.

If I played this course again it would have to be at a reduced rate.

Staff was fantastic and a very bright spot on the day.

Not sure if the course was worth the money. Pro shop nice just not overly friendly. Course was in good shape. Finished right at dark and bar closed at dark.

The greens were fast and true. With the speed of the greens, hitting the proper approach shot was key to a low score. . Course was in great shape. There were a number of challenging holes, especially the 200+ Par 3s. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

The course was in excellent condition. Greens pretty fast but rolled true. The only complaint was the slow group in front of us. Had to wait on most holes.

I really liked this course. If I could I'd give it a 4.5 star. Only con is the greens, which were in very nice condition were somewhat hard and rolled very quickly plus your ball didn't create much of a divot so when it hit the green it didn't stop and would roll off. Therefore play in front of green and have ball roll on. The course was in great condition. There were quite a few sand traps and very strategically located. For instance you would have a right and left sand bunker or left/right sand with opposite side being wasteland at about 230 yards making you have to hit the center of fairway on some holes. Most greens were narrow with right and left (and sometimes surrounding) sand bunkers. If you were off green right or left you would have to make a great sand (or ruff) shot or your ball would hit the green and roll off into the opposite bunker because the greens tended to be long and narrow. Did I mention that the sand bunkers aren't those flat, roll out of bunkers but the high majestic type that sometimes require a lob wedge instead of a sand wedge to overcome. Tough course but in a good way. Bring your A game. I normally shoot in the mid to high 80's but walked off this course hat in hand with a 99. I can't wait to play it again. Golf aside, the staff was very friendly, helpfull and courteous.

Have played this course a few times in the past few years. Was recommended to me by a Golf Writer.

This is an interesting "out and back" layout. Every hole is right in front of you, no hidden traps or gimmicks. Even with this being said, there are well placed bunkers and trouble making you think you way around the track. Greens are large and undulating. Position on the greens are key to scoring well.

I find myself booking this course each time we visit Scottsdale!

Fun course. Very well maintained. Excellent course for great scenic views. Lots of native grasses.

Wow this course was in great shape. Not sure how they do it. The fairways were perfect, the greens were marvelous and even the tee boxes were a 10. Truly a great experience with little play and I was sent out an hour before my tee time. The practice area was also unbelievable. From sand to chipping to working on my irons it couldn't get any better. I played Ambiente and it was a challenge but not particularly unusual. The course layout was a but basic but that is my only criticism. Great place to play. I will return.

My first play since this course was redone and I like the new layout. The Links style layout was lush and green. The greens are large and prisine with some having big undulation and slope making most approach shots challenging. The bunkers were numerous and many had steep faces. I didn't like the large grooves in the ranked sand (I was in a few) but I think it is part of the links design. A great play if you can get a good rate.

Great course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The condition of the course was perfect. Lush fairways and smooth greens. Just the right degree of difficulty for a 20 handicap.

The course is built around an arroyo. The first 10 holes go straight out one side of it, the last 8 holes come back the other side of it. So the layout was a little boring. Many of the holes looked the same. Par 3's were ALL 200+ yards. It was in lush, pristine condition, but I thought the layout was repetitive. I'm glad I played it. Nice clubhouse and great burger.

The course is in excellent shape! The fairways are well groomed. The greens are fast!

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely play here again!
