Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

Great value. Great course and in great condition. Will do it again.

Played in the middle of a scramble tournament but made it around before dark. Very nice layout. Greens were in super condition. Tees nearly all the way back on the par 3's made it more challenging and fun. Good track.

overseed came in very nice this year Carts in great condition.pace of play was a little slow took about 4 hours and 40 minutes. sand traps are in great shape but deep and tough. greens are excellent

I am an out of towner and booked a round at this course since it is so close to my hotel. Nov during week day, I would imagine its not peak season yet, I can get my round in for around 4 hrs.

We have been waiting on every single hole since hole 1. Teed off 12:30 and finished at 5:30. I called in around hole 10 and asked if the ranger can take a look since there was a full hole in front of 2 groups ahead. Jose, a very friendly guy from the pro shot said he would page the ranger. 2 holes later, still no ranger. I called again and Jose said I should come in after my round and see "what the head pro can do for me" (meaning if they can give me some sort of discounts or compensation). I explained, I didn't want anything from them other than a decent pace.

Then in 10 mins, here came the ranger. He basically said "you are ahead. you are playing behind a 4 some, so what do you expect? The 4 some is actually 9 minutes early. We play 4.5 hr round". He literally made me feel like I am just a complainer. So I kept my mouth shut. I would expect a solution from a ranger and not justification on why those guys are playing so slow on a weekday, with NO ONE in front of them. So, Mr Ranger...my round lasted 5 hrs. Not 4.5 hrs that you said. One possible solution is move us to a different hole, OR check to see if those 4somes will let us pass, OR move us to a different course since they are a 36 hole course. I don't know what option we would have picked, BUT just saying "there is nothing wrong with this" is everything wrong with this. This guy has ruined this round of golf and the perception of this golf course. Don't they give ranger a customer service 101????

Golf Now did not indicate ‘cart paths only’ This was due to reseeding and. Too much walking and trying to hit near cart path.

Recently reopened after overseeing. Cart path only. Greens smooth and relatively fast. Tees and fairways with new grass and a bit shaggy. Excellent overall conditions. Sub 4 hour round - not crowded and twosomes mostly. Friendly and competent staff. $69 rate. If you don’t mind Cary path only I suggest you play it ASAP.

Even though in its hay-day it must have been magnificent however the years have taken a toll on this property. Did not enjoy the course lay out or the amenities. The rates are way over inflated.

Course has a fabulous layout and amenities. They were getting ready to overseed so fairways were a bit dry but after winter grass is planted I am sure it will be amazing. Green fees were very reasonable.

Ambiente is definitely in my top 5. The bunkering and green undulations are beautiful and the course from tee to green was in outstanding condition. For perspective on this, I just played both We Ko Pa tracks at the beginning of the week and Ambiente left the same lasting impression.

The sight lines on this course from tee to fairway to green are fantastic and call for some very quality shotmaking. The native grasses that line the fairways and wash areas give it a great links vibe. The massive bunkers are gorgeous...love them....The overall design reminds me a lot of the Faldo Course at Wildfire in North Scottsdale, which is another top 5 of mine.

The Camelback property is very nice and the other course on site "Padre" is a decent intermediate track......but if your a serious player then book Ambiente. You won't be disappointed.

My oldest bro drove from Estes Park to visit, so I booked a tee time online with golfnow.comand the experience was wonderful! Challenging immaculate greens the size of a cul de sac and fairways groomed better than most greens elsewhere! Elevated approach to greens - all greens- make approach shots especially challenging! Had fun and shot score id ntical to when I played Pebble Beach!

Course was in really good condition for Arizona dead of summer. Friendly staff and a good value.

Nice course and layout. The staff was great and they had a lot of rain storm the night before and shut down the other course because of it. Got off early, never held up. Good pace of play. I liked the design of the course but you end up looking for lost balls much of the day because of the long native grasses. Don't like courses like that really. Takes forever if you aren't a straight shooter. I am, so not such a problem for me. Not sure if it was because of the rains but not much sand in the bunkers. Greens rolled nice and not too humpty dumpty with the mounding. All in all, good experience but I can't see $189 as their seasonal rate. Great if they can get it but right now it is a great rate to play this course. So get out and play it now and you won't be disappointed. I play a lot of the high end places in Phoenix during the summer. The only time I can afford them, so get out early and play and you will enjoy it.
