Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

Good course. Excellent greens. Need to work the ball right to left to stay out of trouble off the tee.
Ravine on right side of most holes. Continuous 18, so no quitting after 9 if play is slow.
That was the case this past Saturday morning. 5 hour round.
Would reccomed! Perhaps weekday play isn't as jammed up

Overall condition of course was outstanding. Even with oversees the fairways were not overly wet. Greens were fast but held approach shots. Hot Deal made the round very affordable, but even at regular rates it less expensive than other courses in Scottsdale and a good test for any skill level.

Upon arrival, beginning with Outside Services, through the Pro Shop and Starter, service was excellent. You have "customer service" right. I had an issue with my cart, Outside took care of it immediately!

The course is in great shape, greens were fast, fast, took some time getting used to, but we're all consistent.

Pace of play was a bit of an issue; several groups in front of us were slow; the Player Assistant explained he was trying to get them moving. A few times on the back 9 there were 3 groups on the same hole. For my partner who is a member, seemed like more of an issue than for me.

Thank you for a great round. Again every employee I came in contact with, had "customer service" foremost in their mind! I would recommend your course without a doubt!

Course is ok but not worth the money. I'm use to playing $35 and $45 courses back home and their condition matches this $80-$100 course. Some scenic holes but mainly within a housing development.

fast greens. playing pace was average. not sure that i would pay regular rate but got excellent deal on golf now

Found the course challenging but didn't have my A game on this day. The course was cart path only on the day we played. Overall the course was in good condition and play was quick with my foursome done in less than 3.5 hours.

We stopped and had lunch before we went out. Lunch menu was limited. But the turkey club was excellent. The starter warned us to stay in the fairway and we would have a good round. I should have listened to him. Most of us in the foursome hit into the grass at least once per hole. Needless to say that ball was gone forever. They had just over seeded and it was cart path only. This really slowed up play so much that we didn't finish our round before the sun went down. We saved $$ by playing later in the afternoon but I would never pay full price to play this course.

Course condition -- great. Pace of play --zero. Played behind a 4-some of members for over 4.5 hours. Nightmare. The entire course was backed up. Zero marshaling. One & done.

Played Ambiente for the first time.Loved it. Will definitely go back

The Ambiente Course at Camelback Golf Club is one of the most spectacular courses in the greater valley. Starting with the first hole, players move westward, hitting right along the base of Camelback mountain. Course terrain is ever changing and thus challenging. But even for a bogey golfer, it's manageable and fun!
Staff was excellent & helpful, at every level. Driving range was in perfect condition, easy to park your golf cart adjacent to where you practice, and huge buckets of balls were at each station. Bottles of drinking water were provided to each player, as well as ice and towels. Carts equipped with GPS, so no need for range finder.

Marriott worked a couple of years to change the old Indian Bend course into the Ambiente. Frankly, the result is disappointing. The course is UGLY, with nasty native grasses bordering the fairways. I feel sorry for the folks who have nice homes overlooking the wash, their current view is UGLY. The course didn't play hard even tho it was 6100 yds. The greens were in good shape. The amenities were really below par. There were no ball washers. They gave a towel one could wet and clean the ball. Of course that gets really mucky fast. There were no tee box ID or yardage signs and no waste cans on the tee boxes. There were four water stations. There was intermittent cart service. The directional signs were really hard to read. On one hole I teed off in the wrong direction. I searched for another hole for five minutes as the directional sign was brown on dark brown. For a Camelback course this facility was lacking. The Padre course is much the better. Glad I played Ambiente at a discount rate as that lessens the experience frustration. Can't see any reason to go back there.

Course in great shape from tees to greens. Greens were medium fast with no ball marks. Course is an out and back course where you do not return to the clubhouse after 9. Bottled water provided on cart and excellent GPS is included. No ball washers on course. Would recommend playing once but there are better courses to play in the valley.

Was told a start that greens were very firm still, being it only having a couple years of play since it was re vamped. Most greens held my shots and I scored decent. Only short chips and pitches were hard to control. Greens rolled fast and pretty true. Water dispersed at certain holes was very good and cart people were nice. Facilities were clean. Great pair, ambiente and padre. Will play again for sure

Ambiente is a great course and a great value for the money. staff is awesome with a great practice range.
Good challenge for middle to advanced golfers from the Verde tees

With the fescue height in excess of 10", if you hit an arrant shot your done. Two feet into the rough and you and taking a drop.

Accurate, conservative and conscious shot making is a requirement. Greens and fairways are in good shape.

Had looked at this course for some time and read reviews about the remodel. Was pleasantly surprised that how good the course was in design and the quality of the surfaces. From the tips the back 9 gets very long

The course flooded by the last storm, the rough is very high, if you missed the fair way, you will have a tough time to find the lost ball.

I found the course to be somewhat challenging. I don't particularly like links courses but had hear both good and bad about Ambiente. I like it but would most likely play in a foursome next time. Pace was excellent , the course was pretty empty so I am sure that helped with the pace of Play..

Course in great shape. Pace of play was great. 4:15 hrs. Actually a little lush to be the links course it has been purported to be. Definitely would be back.

Fun course,great conditions,especially bunkers .Very few burnt areas from heat. Guarantee we will be back. $7 per beer after round was a little much.
