Camelback Golf Club - Ambiente Course

The renovation of Camelback's Ambiente Golf Course
is quite striking and positive . It now plays much like an inland Links course.
Overall , practice facility, Golf Course, Staff, Food+Drink were all 1st rate!

The money they put into this course was well worth it, this is one beautiful course- the greens were fast and rolled very nice-staff was very nice and I will be back.

Played this course for the first time with my dad and the conditions were perfect. It reminds you of golf in the southeast with some areas resembling a marsh area. The holes get repetitive after a while but that is overshadowed by true greens, plush fairways, and well maintained bunkers. I don't think it's worth $220 but for around $125 I would go for it.

I cannot say enough great things about this course. It was in amazing condition from tee box to green. We played in 3 hours. The carts had top of the line GPS. They had a 3 for 1 drink special that made the drinks only overpriced and not extremely overpriced like most Scottsdale courses. And the course was tough but can be enjoyed by all levels of golfers. Play this course you will not regret it.

Great conditions from tee to green- however it is inexcusable to have a 4:55 minute round on a Wednesday morning. We were offered a free drink on the 7th hole- never saw the Marshall again until the 17th hole- used the GPS to call for him on the 11th....
For the cost of the green fees - they should have better control- we were in formed they had 240 players out Wednesday- avg $125 ( or more) a $30,000 day - maybe a complimentary round of golf would have been appropriate.
If your looking to play, wait for the next price drop and plan your day accordingly

Enjoyed playing Camelback Ambiente. Even as a threesome, it played fairly speedy.

Do not play this course if you want to play in under 5 hours. There was one and half holes open in front of the foursome we were playing behind and the ranger said they were on time and would not move hem along. This is the first course I have ever walked off on 17. The course was in great shape but don't pay that kind of money for muny pace of play. We left Ohio where it was -2 only to be frustrated by waiting on every hole. No fun, but looking for other courses that maintain play.

The course is nicely improved from the old version and was in great shape but I prefer the old finishing hole. I wouldn't pay $175...there are better options at that price point.

Great driving range, chipping green, short game and bunker area, putting greens.

Fastest electric golf carts EVER!!!! Excellent GPS that gives yardage to the "PIN" that day, not just front, middle, back. Detailed yardages to landmarks. Probably the best GPS I have used. Free bottled water in the carts, and also free bottled water about every 4 holes. White towels in carts for cleaning.

Only problem is no ballwashers or club cleaners on carts...or anywhere on the course. The only criticism of this course.

Played fromt ip 7200 yds. Great tee boxes, fairways, and medium size but undulating difficult greens. Medium fast speed and smooth. Bunikers well sanded.

Very fair course, no gimmicky holes. You can see where you need to hit. Tough course though.

Try it and you will love the course and service!

Great course that challenges you to use all of your clubs in your bag.

Remodel of Ambiante Course is awesome!! Very happy to have gotten to play it during WM Open week!!

This is one course I could play every day. There are so many great holes and the greens are very challenging. It is too bad more courses here aren't like Hawaii where locals who play them year around are rewarded during high times. Even if it was a once a month special. Prices on this course are going out of reason.

Looked like a Florida course. Frankly, it was a little boring. Flat layout, holes seemed to repeat themselves. While the course was well maintained, there was little information to determine how to play the holes. (The Ambiente course is not yet on the GPS system for Garmin or other range finders. The GPS system on the cart worked only part of the time.) Without course knowledge the greens are challenging. Greens rolled true but hard and difficult to hold. Several uphill greens that sloped away from the front. I would not recommend for a one time play. Probably OK for someone who is going to play it a few times to really understand the greens.

I've played ambiante before and it's definitely improved but there are still many areas that could be better. Just the amount of grass on the fairways is limited. It makes shots tough unnecessarily.

The greens are excellent. Great speed but probably too much undulation for most.

More grass in the fairways and rough would help because the holes seems sloped to run away from center making the ball head toward the waste areas. That's a little too punitive if you ask me.

All in all, good course with lots of ways to improve playability.

Great layout but greens hard as rock and unplayable.

We live right on the course and watched the 10 million dollar remake, We finally decided to try it out. The course was in fabulous condition despite being just a few years old. Being a Marriott property the service and staff are great.

The course is challenging but very playable at the same time. Bunkers everywhere including being very well places to catch tee balls no matter what tee boxes you play.

my wife is a beginner and the forward tees provided her an enjoyable day. This is not a desert course....but very pretty.

Course was in good condition. Greens fast but true.would play again.

As the course matures, the greens will become more receptive.

Unique course and experience, fairways and greens in excellent shape. Love tough pin positions, but have to say there were a few goony golf pin placements. Greens so fast and a few holes were in middle of slopes, ball comes back to your feet. Need to use the tiers of the green to penalize shots, not bizarre pin placements to penalize lag putts.
