TPC Scottsdale - The Stadium Course
About
Designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf, The Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale was purpose-built to host the PGA Tour's Phoenix Open, and it has done so since 1987. Designed with high drama in mind, the venue is well known as one of the most exciting and fan-friendly in all of golf, which includes a thrilling finishing stretch that begins with the risk-reward 15th hole. The course plays to over 7,200 yards from the tournament tees, but golfers who play the course during their Arizona golf vacation will find the layout has more forgiving fairways than many other area desert courses. The TPC experience includes one of the most encompassing practice areas in the destination, as well as grand clubhouse that includes the Toro Restaurant and Rum Bar. TPC Scottsdale is also home to the Champions Course, which plays out of a separate facility nearby.

A family favorite!
Every time my 2 sons and I come to Phoenix, we make sure to play either/both of the TPC courses. Majestic views, challenging courses, and overall upscale facilities to be enjoyed. Staff are the best and always great memories to take home.
Other than aeration, what an amazing course!
We were there on a day they were aerating. We felt like we were being followed by the maintenance crew that was punching and filling the aerated greens. This course would have been amazing without the aeration, but they did warn us, and the price was amazing so I cannot complain about it. Hopefully we can find another deal like that when the course is in better condition. There was no one ahead or behind us for an hour and it took us 3 hours to complete with 2 players. 110 degrees, 10am start, $35, even with aeration was an amazing deal for this course!
TPC Scottsdale Champions
The golf course was great, but the greens had been worked on and sanded that morning. We wished we made aware of it before hand.
Challenging greens
Enjoyed my round greatly, able to golf with no one ahead or behind me. Very seanic course.
course in poor condition
Although not recently, I have played this course over 100 times. I was very very disappointed in the condition of the course. The fairways looked like they had winter kill and the greens were slow and bumpy. They have a steady stream of revenue from tourists but won't be getting any more of my money.
Greens need attention
Nice course near the Scottsdale airport so it is a little disconcerting having jets flying over. If Phil or Tiger or Ricky were on board looking down that would be o.k but they are someplace much cooler than Phoenix in July. As value goes they reduced the rate enough to get interest and I might add Bill the starter from Eden Prarie MN was very knowledgeable and extremely nice. We are group of local guys that live on a course on the West side and during the summer when rates are lower we want to see if we can venture out to different layouts and designs. We will try the stadium when it re-opens in August.
Must play and experience fast greens.
Great golf and in great shape. Allows you to play a true PGA golf coarse.
course looked and played like you would expect from a $40 muny.
Greens very poor condition. Fairways not well maintained. Felt like something from a local city course, not a TPC @ $$$.
Golf experience of a life time
Very well organized ,you can see why some of the best players in the world play at this course.
For the likes of us casual players it is an experience of a life time.
I will remember this for a long time,as one of the nicest courses I have played.
Looking forward to playing more TPC courses and if they are as good as this one I'm in for a treat.
Great Experience
Had a great time at the stadium course this morning. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the day. I normally play less elite courses so my standard for great condition may not be as high as other reviewers on here, but it was in very good condition. It was quite wet unfortunately so expect mud balls. A few thinner patches but nothing too bad. I have never played it in the cooler months so it may be in pristine condition then, but for an Arizona course in the summer it is pretty much as good as I've seen. In my opinion the fact that it is a PGA Tour course hurts it a bit because people expect it to always be perfect. As far as my opinion goes though, if you can get through the wetness, you will be pleased. Greens run great!
Great round at TPC Stadium
I finally got the opportunity to play the TPC Stadium course at a reasonable rate. And it was worth every penny! What a great layout that is easy enough for an average golfer and challenging enough for a decent player. Course is in great shape for this time of year.
Top notch!!!
Greens were superb. Friendliest staff ever, made for an unforgettable experience.
A Lot Of Walking
I got a handicapped flag. but it did not do much good.. The cart path had curbs most of the way thru the greens. If you have problems with walking or respitory issues, be prepared to do a lot of walking around the greens and a few fairways were cart path only....all in all a good layout. If you are able, play it.
STOP! WARNING!
Played Stadium Course 6/20/2013 and the course is NOT in good condition. Burnt out spots everywhere yet wet and muddy in other places. Guy at the end who cleans your clubs told us "well it is in the middle of June and if you come back during prime months the course will be pristine". Well, EXCUSE ME, ball washer boy but I expect a better experience than this any time of year. That guy left a real bad taste in my mouth and I won't be coming back, ever.
$75 is way more than most other courses charge now that are in way better condition even in June. I played Whirlwind last week and it WAS pristine.
Just an FYI to not expect a lot right now. They are closing in 3 weeks for a month to work on the course. With so many courses to choose from in this area, this is not one I would play at this time.
Love the course
One of my favorite courses... Greens were rolling smooth and true and they played very firm. The fairways were extremely wet I had 3 plugged lies in the center of the fairway which was surprising for summer in AZ. Staff was very dismissive. No one at the bag drop when we pulled up. I went in to the golf shop and there were 5 people behind the counter and not one of them said hello. (Which is usually not the case). Beverage cart girl didnt bother to yield to play on both occasions that we saw her. We were putting on the 4th green and she came up full speed with out giving any thought that she might be distracting play. (Only saw beverage cart 2 times in 18 holes on a slow Tuesday afternoon in 110 deg heat) water coolers every 3 holes was nice. No where near the level of service that I have grown to love and expect when I visit a TPC property.
Great Experience
The course was very nice and we all had fun until the Ranger told us to pick up the pace, we were on the same hole as the group ahead of us maybe 1/2 a hole behind. Two holes later he came and told us it was our final warning. At the time of the final warning we were going to the green of a hole and the group ahead of us were on the tee box of the next hole. The group was pretty upset. Let me explain that the group contained the head pro and an employee from our golf course and I am the head of the rangers and starters at the course. The pro played the course 3 over from the tips. I understand the rangers job but don't think it was handled well. Thanks Ralph
Love TPC
I really love playing the stadium course whenever I can, it is always in great shape and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I definitely will be playing again before the year is over.
Nice Course
Nice course, prompt service upon arrival. Water at every other hole. Good condition considering the Arizona heat.
This course is worth a visit for sure.
I just love it. Not only this course has already a reputation of a PGA course hosting the Waste Management Phoenix Tournament, it has spectacular landscape. You can't go wrong with the Golf Now last minute offer on this course.
Enjoyable course to play
Always fun to play a course the pros play. Course was in good shape for the time of year.
