About
Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course was built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The recent renovation led by Beau Welling was completed in 2025 and was thoughtfully planned to protect the architectural feel of Pete Dye’s original creation.
At par 72, this 6,471-yard course is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous. With five tee options, the modernized layout was designed to meet the requirements of today’s game brought on by technological advancements in equipment, providing a high-quality and consistent playing experience.

Great course, better staff
Friendliest and most helpful staff at any golf course I have ever been to. Big statement, but true! Check in process was a breeze, and Dennis, the starter, was beyond helpful. He gave us advice on ways to play the course, and went out of his way to get our round going as quickly and smoothly as possible, right down to sending us off the back to keep us from being behind a group of 4 (there were just 2 of us). Course itself was waterlogged, and some bare tee boxes, but I am chalking that up to the wet wet winter. Lots of marsh and water in play. Views are amazing, and anyone with the opportunity should take in this great golf course!
Greens were slow but overall we really enjoyed the layout and had a great time

Nice Course; some great views
Nice course, nice layout, great views. It was winter, but some of the fairways were a little thin; some of the cart paths need some maintenance. All in all a fun course, nice folks, reasonable resort pricing.

Needs The spring time
Its a nice course but the bemuda grass is dormant and there are a lot of bare spots

Very scenic course
Love this course. Pace of play a little slow due to a 5some. Course in fair shape for this time of the year and all the rain. Staff wonderful. Very scenic and fair course to play. Will definitely be back.

Always breezy. Greens firm roll true. Depends on pin placement. If greenskeeper in bad mood, pins placed in tourney position, very tough course. But, fair as it reflects how well you play.

Cold day at oak marsh
I always enjoy playing this course a few times each year. Still early in the season so grass was not yet growing much. Could not figure out the grain on the greens, but enjoyed the round from the blue tees. Played the round in 2 hours as a single as very few golfers were in evidence. Looking forward to playing again soon.

Been waiting to play the course. I was pleasantly surprised. The fairways were not as narrow as I expected. The greens were very challenging to hit.
