Deer Island Country Club

This course never disappoints. Greens traps fareways rough in very good shape. My only complaint was the 3 some playing in some outing ridiculously slow. Shame on the ambassador for not pushing them along. Will play again soon. Always a good value.

Totally unique experience from other courses in central Florida I’ve played. Our buddy suggested taking his pontoon boat out for a day on the lake, but golfing beforehand. Pulled up to the dock and took a 2 min walk to the club house which felt pretty surreal. Course was in great shape, challenging layout with a ton of water that makes you play intelligently or pay the price. Being extra balls. Clubhouse is dope with a sim and pool table, super friendly staff

Not only is this course absolutely beautiful it is in fabulous condition! Plays long for a 25 handicap, but manageable. Loved playing and will definitely return!

Greens are darn near perfect. Fairways are really nice for the most part. Tee boxes....some need some work. We love this course....long drive, sure but worth it. Management is really trying to keep this a top course. Homes in/on the course are breathtaking........lucky boogers!

The course conditions were amazing. Tee boxes, fairways, greens, rough and traps all great. Restroom codes would not unlock the doors on course amenities though. Club house staff and cart girls were great. The driving range is mats only and not great but the big issue is that it faces directly into the rising sun. The largest issue with the course was the nagging ranger. She approached our foursome 3 times in 10 minutes telling us to play faster of she would move us. The first time she complained we had 2 open holes ahead, not our fault we started with 3 open holes ahead of us. She then came at us 5 minutes later with the same thing. And again 5 minutes later. In that time our foursome finished a par 4 and we were halfway down the following par 5. The course pace was set to be 3:45 for 18. I feel she was being ageist as she was clearly in her 90s and we were the youngest players on the course at our 40s with my father in his 60s. Every other player out was in their 70s and up. So we get around the turn after she bugged us again and behold on hole 10 we have 2 groups in front and there are 2 groups ahead of them. Great course, perfect conditions, but the rangers need to get real on timing. We were averaging 8 minutes a hole, this is not an issue for any pace of play.

The course is in great shape. A few holes are still a challenge. Greens just a little slow. Fairways great. Enjoyed the day.

I’m giving this course a 9.5/10 only for the fact that their signature hole par 3 #13 is under repair and have to hit to a makeshift green on the side. Aside from that the course was perfect. Couldn’t ask for more.
