Sharing a home with the renowned Stadium Course can be intimidating, but Pete Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass is definitely able to hold its own. The golf course features large greens and an abundance of water that sprawl across rolling hills and valleys. During a renovation in 2006, more than 300 trees were added to the golf course and several bunkers were reconstructed to make them more challenging. One of the most notable holes is the 350-yard third. What this par-4 lacks in length, it makes up for in difficulty with a fairway that slopes sharply to the left and a tightly manicured collection area that is twelve feet below the level of the green.

Dye's Valley - Not worth the money

Very disappointed that the staff at the clubhouse or the starter didn't bother to mention that there was ongoing construction on almost every hole. Machinery running everywhere, workers around several greens. Cart paths blocked and no signage or even a clue about which way to go in some places. Greens and fairways were not in the best of condition, even allowing for it being mid-February. Definitely a challenging layout and it could have been fun to play on some other day but I'll spend my dollars elsewhere next time.

Don't play the Valley until course is renovated!

So disappointing! Our public county course is in better condition...and 1/3 the price! The Valley course will be undergoing renovations in March. Not true. The course is already under renovation with construction on 4 holes. At least 6 other greens were extremely thin. The only green color on the course was the tee boxes and greens.... probably not watering. They clearly are not keeping up the course in preparation for the major repairs. Too make it worse they are still charging full rates! We stayed at the resort and spent a lot of money for our special golf trip. Guess the surprise was on us! NOT WORTH IT!

TPC Valley course more playable for everybody

Each of the three times I came off the Stadium course at the TPC Sawgrass, I swore I might quit the game. Every time I played the Valley, I vowed I'll play more often. That's the difference between the two TPC courses at Sawgrass. The Stadium is a modern monster; the Valley course a fun and enjoyable experience. All of the troubles lurks to one side, right or left, giving average players like me a chance to bail out if necessary. The Valley doesn't have the epic finish of the Stadium course, but that's probably a good thing. The Valley is good enough to host pro tournaments without all the dirty tricks of Pete and Alice Dye.

The other TPC Sawgrass Course not a bad alternative

Most people know about the Stadium Course, but the Valley Course isn't too shabby either. Also designed by Pete Dye, there's lots of water hazards, lush turf and tour level challenge, since it does host a Web.com event. The difference is that it's not nearly as hard as the Stadium Course. It also costs a lot less to play. If you're making the trip to the resort, you owe it to yourself to play both courses.

Beautiful and Challenging Design

This course is the best course I have played in Jax, and I've played every one (except stadium course). Tee boxes are taken very good care of. Fairways are beautiful, narrow, and have a lot of hills making it very difficult, but fun! The rough is unpredictable, you can either be buried or on top, which makes for a great challenge. Bunkers are very well taken care of, nice soft sand, not hard and compact. Last, but not least, the greens are amazing, soft enough to stick the ball or spin it and firm enough to get a good roll when needed. I wish players took care of the greens though, they left a lot of divots, I fixed about 4 every hole, not the ground keepers fault at all. And customer service was awesome, very friendly staff!

Expected great things at Sawgrass

Sawgrass Dye's Valley course, definitely treated like the second class course, staff were cordial, no course information given by starter! No GPS or course planners, so played it blind!! Greens recently dressed, absolutely no chance of putting and greensmen watering greens whilst teeing off (par 3s) and whilst playing second shots into greens, very dangerous and off putting !

Dye's Valley is challenging and unforgiving...but fun to play!

What a great day of golf! The staff was so friendly and pleasant. We say "unforgiving" in that if you go off the fairway, you may never find your ball. If you do, it won't be easy to get it back on track.

Dye's Valley Course

First time playing Dye's Valley, after having played Stadium Course numerous times. Have often heard that Dye's Valley is slightly more difficult, but would not quite agree with that assessment. On its own merit, a fine golf course with sufficient challenge and excellent condition, although green speed was a bit slower than expected. I would recommend Dye's Valley Course without hesitation, but consider Stadium Course to be superior in all respects. Overall rating would be 4.5 if possible, but round down to "4" since fractions are not possible.

Aeration - Dye's Valley

I played in the Pro-Am for the Winn-Dixie Open at Dye's Valley in 2012 and expected the conditions to be similar. I couldn't have been more dissappointed.

The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were recently aerated and there was sand everywhere. I don't qutie undertand why TPC would even allow people to play when the course is in this type of condition. $89 was much too high for what I experienced.

TPC Sawgrass has another course just as exceptional as the Stadium.

We played the Stadium course the day before and Dye's Valley Course is just as incredible. It has all the normal Pete Dye touches you would expect. The layout was challenging and visually impressive. The staff treated us as if we were 30 year members to the course. Play here if you get the chance.

Great layout

This is the first big name course ive played and definitely one of the more challenging and impressive layouts. That being said, for all the tout given to these two courses (Dye Valley and the Stadium) this one was not as well maintained as i would have expected.. Fairways were in good condition but not pristine, greens were good but mediocre when compared to other courses and maybe its just me but on a course like this i wouldnt expect to have to walk around the fairways searching for distance markers on sprinkler heads.. (No visual markers. i thought every course had at least a 150 yrd marker visible..) Overall i give it 31/2 - 4 stars because the layout is that good and i still think it was a great deal for $59.

Almost There

The Valley course has undergone renovations and is getting better. The greens are almost there and the rest of the course is in great condition. Staff always great and makes you feel welcome. Still don't like the idea of paying over $100 for a round but it was worth it this time. Will be back.

The greens it dies Valley have been lost by the greenskeeper

The greens at Dyes Valley are full of black mold and are in horrible condition. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate them as a one. Even worse yet they want tell you about the condition of the greens until after you get to the first one.
Also the range is under renovations are not available for use

course is a great layout

TPC Valley course has always been one of my favorites in the beaches area. The facility is great and the staff has always been very customer friendly. The only negative issue would be the greens are in less than "TPC" quality my last few rounds. I would rate them a 4 on a scale of 10.....based on the level I have seen them in the past.

DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE AT THIS TIME

It's absolutely ridiculous that they would charge anyone $200 to play this course right now. They greens are in HORRIBLE SHAPE!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, unless you just have it to waste.

I paid $64 to play and it wasn't even worth the money! I am a member of St. Johns Golf and Country club and the greens are in mint condition. NO EXCUSE for the Valley course to be in the shape its in. POOR showing with the TPC just being in town.

Dye's Valley - Very disappointing

They can't tear these greens up soon enough!! The greens are atrocious. Mixed grasses and an irregular surface renders them almost unplayable. Do not pay full price to play here.

This has no resemblance to the beautiful course that I played after the Winn-Dixie last year, Were it not for the great forecaddie (Shane) and the other staff this would have been rated lower.

Great day of golf on an awsome course with great staff.

This was a great day and a great day of golf. The greens were long and slow but Im sure they are that way as the stadium course is closed and they will get heavy traffic with TPC coming up in a couple of weeks. The course is worth every penny of $60.
