World Golf Village is home to 36 challenging holes of championship golf. The Slammer & Squire Course is named after the two World Golf Hall of Fame legends, Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, who served as consultants to the course's designer, Bobby Weed. The golf course is known for its tricky par-3 holes and the carefully preserved beauty of the landscape. Its traditional layout meanders through native flatwoods and hardwood hammocks, running alongside wetland preserves and a wildlife habitat. The scenic Slammer & Squire Course features contoured greens and gently rolling, generous fairways. There is also an abundance of water on the golf course in the forms of lakes and marshes.

Entire course is aerated. Only $75 right now but not worth it. Wait at least a few weeks.

I expected more

I booked to play here because of the reviews, because it's the World Golf Village and Hall Of Fame, and despite the expensive green fees.

The course itself is good/great and the Greens were all in great condition. However I have to say I'm struggling to really remember it.

The Hall of Fame were deserted, is that because its moving home? We didn't try to visit and no-one promoted it to us as visitors from the UK.

Overall I was disappointed, I expected more for the $200+ green fee. Compared to other clubs/courses we visited it was not good value for our money.

Outstanding

Early tee time, 3rd tee time of the day. Was done in 2 1/2 hours. Fairways and greens were perfect. Going again next time I visit that area.

Took friends from SD, they said it was the best coarse they ever played. Wish the bar would of stayed open past 5pm.

Thoughtful, interesting resort golf

While it may not have the name cachet of its sister course, King & Bear, Slammer & Squire is the more compelling of the two courses at World Golf Village, in my estimation. Especially through recent renovation work, architect Bobby Weed massaged interesting strategy, eye-catching bunkering and fun green contours - including several that fall away from the line of play - into an otherwise fairly standard resort routing. The variety in the greens means that it would be worthwhile to play this course multiple times during an extended visit.

It's cart golf for the most part, but Slammer & Squire is more stimulating than the bulk of Florida resort golf, especially when the greens are firm and quick, as they were in April. I'd gladly play here again as a waypoint to elsewhere along Interstate 95.

Excited golfer

I was very anxious to play this course and it did not let me down. The staff was very nice. The cart guy even let me start on 10 because there was back up on 1. Course was in great condition. Loved my experience.

Bucket List Course for Sure!

I haven't played in a course of this type of caliber in a long time. The course and facilities were world class. Very befitting with the World Golf Hall of Fame. I was truly amazed at how well kept the course was considering all the traffic it gets. The value was just right at roughly $100 a round, where you would be paying 6 times more than that at TPC Sawgrass. I was lucky to be paired up with a seasonal member who knew the course pretty well and gave me great tips on where to aim my shots. The course was absolutely gorgeous, with little to no residential housing around, making it seem like a true magical experience. The nature surrounding the course was breath taking, with tall pine trees surrounding the fairways, and beautiful features all around. The tees, fairways and especially the greens were pristine. 5 out of 5 stars no doubt. Can't wait to return and play the other course.

World Golf Village

Definitely be sure to stop in the Hall of Fame before or after your round. Very cool.

Shuttle service in the parking lot was convenient. Nice pro shop. Cart guys were helpful. Starter was typical grump. No biggie. Course conditions were pristine. Lay out was nice. Stuck behind a large group of golfers that didn’t seem to mind backing things up while they were carrying on and gathering together to analyze every shot. 5 hour round as a threesome… not a ranger in sight. Got off at sunset from our 1:30 tee time. Everything was closed down. Overall a good golf course.
