Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

A $250 plus course in the Bay Area for $25 stunning !
First off I have to say how happy I was with my decision to venture out to Carson city to play here at Dayton Valley. Ian , the head pro is a class act and extremely nice and knowledgeable. The course is gorgeous and pace of play was a non factor. There are tee’s to challenge all levels and a high risk /. Reward shot selection available on most of very hole as water lines most of the fairways and #8 and # 9 are extremely challenging and stunning. For the price Dayton Valley is the definition of value coming from the Bay Area this course would be $200 plus
Fun, challenging course.
I really enjoyed the variety of holes and the layout. I used every club in my bag and the course required a high level of concentration on every shot. Loved it!
"The Round of Golf
Do to Covid, you are unable to give a great rating on of course amenities. Other than that this is well worth the drive in from Reno or the surrounding area. If your coming for a 3 or 4 day golf outing I would definitely include this Cours into your schedule. Lots of water and sand to challenge your every shot along the way.
Enjoyable Challenge
This course was quite challenging and I can't wait to play it again. The day I went it was windy but not overly so.
Worth the drive from Reno!
Nice course, well maintained with some challenging holes.

Awesome course! A must play course. Bring your big boy pants though.

Course is in wonderful shape and challenges all golfers!
Sunday Fun in the Sun
Excellent course with a little windy weather in the afternoon. Course conditions were very good and very playable. Course was used as a pre-qualifier for the Barracuda golf tournament the week before so conditions and pin placements were a little more difficult. Keep it in the fairway and scores should be very good.
Day at Dayton Valley GC
For a public course, Dayton Valley GC is well maintained. It was worth the ride from Reno!
A little gem, supercheap in the afternoons
This course has a great design, a number of really interesting holes, and has amazingly cheap twilight rates starting at 2pm.
Course
I’ve heard from many different sources that the course was not in the greatest of conditions.
I’ve played the course many times and I felt the course was in excellent condition. The tee boxes were nice , fairways well defined and the greens rolled very true. I don’t know why anyone would say bad things, abt the course. Unless they played badly and blamed the course. Keep up the good work.
Pleasant surprise
It felt like we were headed for the middle of nowhere as we drove to Dayton Valley Golf. What a great course!! We stay in Genoa when we visit twice a year and thought we would try something different. It’s about a 45 minute drive but well worth it. It’s on our play list for next trip.
Slow play for no one on the course
Dayton has a great layout but has really dried out in the past month.
For an afternoon with few people on the course. Without a Marshall, people don’t let you play through and they are out for a stroll.
It is a ways to come out and play for such a slow round. Better to stay in Reno to play or Silver Oak.
