Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Course in great condition
Pace of play was really great! We felt like we were the only one playing.. no one behind or in front of us.
Course was in great condition. Lots of watering going on.
Today was windy, however, we knew it was going to be windy.
Tees, Greens, and fairways were in great condition.
Challenging course due to the water/ balls roll into water.
Great day!
Windy but great course
This is one of the Duncan
Courses and is in
Much better shape than Wolf Run. Nice layout and good pace of play.
Winter Golf
The grass is brown though the greens aren’t as green but they roll true as always on this Palmer Course. No matter what the season this course will try every club in your bag and hitting long doesn’t always serve u well here. Accurate and patient golf will prevail. Hit’em straight and replace your divots....
Great Course
This is a great course and place to play. It's a little bit expensive but well worth it. Between the amenities and everything else you can access.
Nice coarse
Enjoyed playing this coarse a lot. Ended up getting stuck behind 3 guys who were more than taking their time. Eventually 2 other groups were stacked up behind us. No Marshall to enforce play. Liked the coarse itself though.
Great layout and excellent condition!
My only suggestions for improvement include:
- better signage to reach the first tee,
- better markings for water hazards,
Great golf experience — look forward to playing again soon!
Love this place!
Always nice to play a quality course like this. Pace was good. Course conditions were very good. Can't beat an Arnold Palmer course for giving you a challenge.
Will be back soon!
Lack of customer service
Customer service is not high on their agenda, they do not greet customers nor do they make you feel welcome. Definitely could use some help with their customer skills. Workers tend to spend more time looking at their phones and sitting on their butts than they do doing their jobs. If you're being paid a wage to perform a job you should have enough respect for your employer to the work they are paying you for.
Challenging but fair course
This is a well maintained course with a good layout. It is a good value for an above average course.
Crazy winds BUT course is fantastic
This course is always in great shape and last time I played was in 2016 so years later still perfect shape.
Staff is great, food was great. Only 2 things I can point out;
1. No tee starter, which resulted in teenagers jumping in front of us when we had a tee time, and I eventually had to ask them to move.
2. We weren’t told there was a tournament going on until AFTER I paid and checked in to tee off, they sent me out on #10 instead so I could miss the tournament.
I should be able to book a tee time during a tournament, at any course. Just block it out, by the time I finished on 18 and headed to #1 a couple teens jumped over their fence and teed off in front of me. Literally I was playing the farthest tees back, they walked to the Red and teed off while I was setting up. Even yelling at them they grabbed their bag, ran and picked up and moved to the next hole.
This course should have a first tee starter at all times, and it would be 5 stars every time.
Great value and excellent condition
The course was in great condition and well-maintained. It was especially neat to watch the SCUBA divers retrieving balls from the various water locations. I'm sure quite a few of mine were in their nets.
One particular note was the thoughtfulness of the course management in that they had someone on the course bringing water if you needed it. Very thoughtful on a hot day.
