Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Pace of play
Pace of play was horrible. Every hole was stand and wait 15 minutes before teeing off. Decided to play 9 after 2.5 hours.
Dayton Valley Golf club
Very well laid out course. It has deep rough, with lots of water, and firm fast greens. Accuracy is a must.
The greens putt great. Very smooth.
I will play it again.
Challenging with lots of water
2 slow foresomes in front of us (twosome) so we waited on most holes. Later in day, starter guy said to come early for no waiting and no afternoon wind.
Still a great day.
Challenging but nice layout
From the friendliness of the staff in the proshop, to the layout of the course this place has the right attitude. Pace of play was good @ 4.5 hrs for 18 holes. Bring your friends and enjoy a round or two.
Course is challenging
Day started great the young man in the clubhouse was friendly and greeted us. Pace of play was good and challenging, 4.25 hrs for 18 holes. Ended the game with a beer and water, overall staff and course were great. I will be back.
difficult but fair
forget that I had to follow a tournament, the course is difficult but challenging and fair, no gimmicks. greens were fast but straight, easy to overthink. I have played here several times in the past, this was my first with a home owner who knew the course, that was a huge plus, it was like having a caddie. play it, 7,8,and 9 will make you think. thumbs up. If it helps the afraid.... I am a consistent 96 to 103 scorer. I shot a 93. and was amazed.
Hard,but fun
Dayton Valley was a really good bargain and a fun course to play! I don’t know how many courses Arny designed, but this is a really good layout!
Great course
Huge value for our $20 round. Will definitely be playing here again before summers end
WORTH $23
WORTH THE $23 I PAID.VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. TEES , FAIRWAYS AND GREENS IN GOOD SHAPE. PACE OF PLAY / AVG. PLAYED AS A SINGLE, CAUGHT A TWOSOME ON 9TH W/ 4 FOURSOME IN FRONT OF THEM .A SINGLE JOIN ME ON THE 12TH.... ENOUGH SAID.
Tee times and large groups
Tee times too close together and excessively overbooked. $45 rate to play a 5 hr and 45 min round and pro shop attendant knew prior to accepting green fees how slow round of 3 golfers would be prior to teeing off. Very poor customer service and very dishonest! We will not be playing here again after playing this course for the past ten years! This course is indeed of new management! There is plenty of courses in area to play besides this course!
Reno Carson Golf - Dayton Valley Golf Club
Looking for uncharted courses in the Reno Sparks area, I came across the Dayton Valley Golf Club. The course is about 30 south of Reno on US 395. The golf shop manager was friendly and helpful, answering all the "newbie" questions. The carts are gas engine and do not have GPS, so bring your own. I found the course to be well maintained, with fast smooth greens. The rough is cut low, making it a little easier to find a mis-hit. The sand traps are a little neglected, so stay out if possible. Also, note that there is water on about 9 holes. The water containers were missing, so bring your own.
Overall, the course was a terrific value. I would play it again.

For December, great condition.
Great course in great shape and a hot deal less than $20. Doesn't get any better.
Great Course Layout.
The course is a good challenge.
Staff courteous , Cart Staff needs to meet players when providing/ setting up a player for the round of golf. Ie. Course instructions, Pin placements, Amenities etc.
