Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Love this place!
Always nice to play a quality course like this. Pace was good. Course conditions were very good. Can't beat an Arnold Palmer course for giving you a challenge.
Will be back soon!
Lack of customer service
Customer service is not high on their agenda, they do not greet customers nor do they make you feel welcome. Definitely could use some help with their customer skills. Workers tend to spend more time looking at their phones and sitting on their butts than they do doing their jobs. If you're being paid a wage to perform a job you should have enough respect for your employer to the work they are paying you for.
Challenging but fair course
This is a well maintained course with a good layout. It is a good value for an above average course.
Crazy winds BUT course is fantastic
This course is always in great shape and last time I played was in 2016 so years later still perfect shape.
Staff is great, food was great. Only 2 things I can point out;
1. No tee starter, which resulted in teenagers jumping in front of us when we had a tee time, and I eventually had to ask them to move.
2. We weren’t told there was a tournament going on until AFTER I paid and checked in to tee off, they sent me out on #10 instead so I could miss the tournament.
I should be able to book a tee time during a tournament, at any course. Just block it out, by the time I finished on 18 and headed to #1 a couple teens jumped over their fence and teed off in front of me. Literally I was playing the farthest tees back, they walked to the Red and teed off while I was setting up. Even yelling at them they grabbed their bag, ran and picked up and moved to the next hole.
This course should have a first tee starter at all times, and it would be 5 stars every time.
Great value and excellent condition
The course was in great condition and well-maintained. It was especially neat to watch the SCUBA divers retrieving balls from the various water locations. I'm sure quite a few of mine were in their nets.
One particular note was the thoughtfulness of the course management in that they had someone on the course bringing water if you needed it. Very thoughtful on a hot day.
Pace of play
Pace of play was horrible. Every hole was stand and wait 15 minutes before teeing off. Decided to play 9 after 2.5 hours.
Dayton Valley Golf club
Very well laid out course. It has deep rough, with lots of water, and firm fast greens. Accuracy is a must.
The greens putt great. Very smooth.
I will play it again.
Challenging with lots of water
2 slow foresomes in front of us (twosome) so we waited on most holes. Later in day, starter guy said to come early for no waiting and no afternoon wind.
Still a great day.
Challenging but nice layout
From the friendliness of the staff in the proshop, to the layout of the course this place has the right attitude. Pace of play was good @ 4.5 hrs for 18 holes. Bring your friends and enjoy a round or two.
Course is challenging
Day started great the young man in the clubhouse was friendly and greeted us. Pace of play was good and challenging, 4.25 hrs for 18 holes. Ended the game with a beer and water, overall staff and course were great. I will be back.
difficult but fair
forget that I had to follow a tournament, the course is difficult but challenging and fair, no gimmicks. greens were fast but straight, easy to overthink. I have played here several times in the past, this was my first with a home owner who knew the course, that was a huge plus, it was like having a caddie. play it, 7,8,and 9 will make you think. thumbs up. If it helps the afraid.... I am a consistent 96 to 103 scorer. I shot a 93. and was amazed.
Hard,but fun
Dayton Valley was a really good bargain and a fun course to play! I don’t know how many courses Arny designed, but this is a really good layout!
Great course
Huge value for our $20 round. Will definitely be playing here again before summers end
WORTH $23
WORTH THE $23 I PAID.VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. TEES , FAIRWAYS AND GREENS IN GOOD SHAPE. PACE OF PLAY / AVG. PLAYED AS A SINGLE, CAUGHT A TWOSOME ON 9TH W/ 4 FOURSOME IN FRONT OF THEM .A SINGLE JOIN ME ON THE 12TH.... ENOUGH SAID.
