Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Tee times and large groups
Tee times too close together and excessively overbooked. $45 rate to play a 5 hr and 45 min round and pro shop attendant knew prior to accepting green fees how slow round of 3 golfers would be prior to teeing off. Very poor customer service and very dishonest! We will not be playing here again after playing this course for the past ten years! This course is indeed of new management! There is plenty of courses in area to play besides this course!
Reno Carson Golf - Dayton Valley Golf Club
Looking for uncharted courses in the Reno Sparks area, I came across the Dayton Valley Golf Club. The course is about 30 south of Reno on US 395. The golf shop manager was friendly and helpful, answering all the "newbie" questions. The carts are gas engine and do not have GPS, so bring your own. I found the course to be well maintained, with fast smooth greens. The rough is cut low, making it a little easier to find a mis-hit. The sand traps are a little neglected, so stay out if possible. Also, note that there is water on about 9 holes. The water containers were missing, so bring your own.
Overall, the course was a terrific value. I would play it again.

For December, great condition.
Great course in great shape and a hot deal less than $20. Doesn't get any better.
Great Course Layout.
The course is a good challenge.
Staff courteous , Cart Staff needs to meet players when providing/ setting up a player for the round of golf. Ie. Course instructions, Pin placements, Amenities etc.
Bill
Very nice course, good place to play. Would recommend to others, setting up for the qualifying.
Absolutely Love this course!!!!!
Kudos to the entire staff here!!!! This course is such a joy to play.Never a bad experience here!!!! I have met a ton of awesome people playing here.Best value for the money in Northern Nevada!!! Well worth the drive up from Reno!!!!
Dayton Geese
Pace and price was wonderful. Never did see a beverage cart. The "sand" bunkers should all be replaced with grass bunkers. There wasn't any sand anywhere on the course that I found. Every green should come with a goose dropping rake or rule. Scraping the goose droppings off a ball isn't funny the 9th or 10th time. I'll play again if I'm ever in the area.
Great course.
This is a great course to play especially for the cost. The only problem we had the day we golfed was they had booked four tournaments that morning. It was poor planning and really slowed the round down. Other than that, I highly recommend this golf course.
Built to Challenge
Beautiful course only surpassed by majestic high desert scenery. Plan to loose balls if your not careful. Strong hitters should not play from the white tees. Blue/White combo tee play is recommended.
hidden jewel
course is in excellent condition hard fast greens absolutely a great course
Staff very good
Enjoyed playing at this golf club. The next time were in town certainly would like to play it again.
Play it again
My visiting threesome had a great time at Dayton Valley. Played the blue tees but, other than a couple of par threes, it didn't feel as long as listed. Got some good roll-out on a few fairways, but they weren't dried out. It was a nice challenge. For the first-time visitor, many fairways will provide some unseen surprises. But nothing was severe. The course was in very good condition, despite the extended dryness. Greens were in very good condition. Will definitely come back here on future visits.
Beautiful course
Great course especially for $40. Only complaint was the sand traps were wet and more like dirt. Otherwise a great course.
need pr course
The fellow in the pro shop was very unfriendly and not at all helpful, made me feel like I did not belong there. I will return only because I like the course.
Good course
We enjoyed our round. Wish there was a Marshall on the back nine. Play was slow on the back.
Dayton Valley
Great round of golf. I can't wait to play there again.
Great course, great value
Although a ways out from Reno, this was a great course and a bargain. Can't wait to play it again.
Hidden treasure
A little off beaten track but a great fun course to play. Lots of houses around course, but set back enough so as not to an issue for errant shots. Entire course in excellent shape. Pro shop staff very friendly. Reasonable rate including cart. Could walk it easily though. Played as single on weekday, but staff accommodated me gladly. Met other nice people to play with.. Location is just off US Hwy 50 east of interstate just east of Carson City. Highly recommend and would play again for sure.
