Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

This course is always in good condition.
The only negative was out tee time was 12:54 and we're told the carts had to be in by 4:30 or they come out and get them. Typically our 4 some will finish in less than 4 hours ,but knowing we were up against time made our round less enjoyable, and hurried some putts and shots.
Awesome course on cold and breezy day
Cold and breezy day with high clouds. The course was in great shape. The greens were fast and true. Our foursome played in 3 hours and 20 mins.
I highly recommend this course. Its one of the best in the area and the Duncans have it in great shape, as usual.
Good day on the course
This is a fantastic course. It offers a good challenge for all types of players. Huge greens, but they were fast, nice fairways and strategic sand traps and water hazards. The cost is more than reasonable. Had a great time
Challenging!
The course was in excellent condition - greens, tee boxes, and fairways were all in great shape. From the time we were welcomed in the pro shop to the 18th hole, it was a terrific experience.
value & challenging
Great course.. Greens were pretty quick & required measured shot-taking. Fun.
Enjoyed the course
Course is very nice, lost a number of balls I am a beginner golfer, so just having fun. Brought a friend along, was his first time golfing, he enjoyed it a lot.
This course is difficult but fair
I play several courses in Northern Nevada and this course is the best. The fairways are beautiful and the greens are extremely fast. It is a nice touch using carts that include GPS, ball and club washers.
The course has great surrounding scenery!
I picked a far too windy day to truly evaluate the difficulty of the course. It was also my first time golfing in one year because of shoulder surgery. I did not see any directions as to where the tenth hole was located, so I played the front nine a second time. I found the tenth hole when I was finished. Maybe there should be a sign pointing toward the 10th tee at the clubhouse. I just moved here from IL & the weather is awesome.
We'll be back!
Great unique and challenging course that requires shot accuracy. Fairways are open, but there are many hazards that need navigating. If your a high handicapper you would be wise to bring extra balls.
Every hole has some variations in fairway and green elevations. The site is immaculate with a great range that includes many targets.
Course conditions have improved
I was pleasantly surprised by the improved conditions this visit from my last visit a year ago. Lush fairways and fast greens.
Outstanding Golf Course
Made the trek over from South Lake Tahoe (1 hr.) and it was absolutely worth it - so much so that I went back again later in the week. Absolutely beautiful golf course and VERY well maintained. Bunkers tend to be a little mushy in the early morning after the greens are watered. Very challenging greens with lots of undulations and quick. A great value for the money.
Dayton
Sand traps are in very poor condition, everything else is excellent about this course.
Beautiful and Challenging
Excellent course to play even for beginners such as myself and my fiance. The course was beautiful and very well kept. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely going back the next time we are in Nevada!
Review of Dayton Valley Course
Have played Dayton Valley many times over the years and have always found it to be in good to very good condition and a very good value for the money.
This course is nice
We really enjoyed this course with exception of two things. The pace of play is slow. Very slow. They do have Marshalls on the course but it did not seem to help. The other problem is the sand traps. As in very little sand and too much water in them. It was like hitting off concrete (unless the water was there).
Course was in excellent condition
Played 18 in 4 hours and really enjoyed the round. We were paired with another couple. We enjoyed it so much that we replayed another 18 for an excellent rate and played that round in 3 1/4 hours.
Great course! Diamond in the rough
Course is in really good shape! Greens were nice, fairways were open. Traps were questionable. All in all a great course for the price I paid. Will be back soon!
tough layout
can't see the fairway boundaries from the tees. very windy. too many unnecessary bunkers
A great value
The course was in very good shape. It had very uniform medium speed greens. The sand traps were not very good (mostly dirt). The cart paths could use some wook. I was put with 3 other players, who play there occasionally and I had a great time with all of them. The pro shop, cart and bAR staff were friendly and helpful.
