Dayton Valley Golf Club
About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

SUPER VALUE!
The course in great shape right now. Easily the best greens I've seen this season in the Reno/Carson City area. Not sure how the possible water restrictions will affect the future but it's really nice at this point and is hands down, the best value anywhere in Northern Nevada.
Great course!!
Great course, fun to play, some bunker and water challenges can't wait to play again. Excellent condition especially with hot dry weather. They need to have water on course in summer.
Great day, good company
Course was in pretty good shape. Some soggy spots, but it's expected with the amount of rain the area had recently. Greens where fast, but not impossible to put on. Got paired up with another 2 some and had a great time.
great overall experience!
This place has the necessary challenges to test the skills of an advanced golfer, but also has forward friendly tees that allows even the beginning golfers to get through a round of golf in a timely manner.
great shape.
Played many times. Well maintained. Playing great right now. Arnold Palmer course. PGA QUALIFIER SITE. best value in Carson.
Excellent conditions
Great value, course conditions were excellent ,,,
Felt like a country club...staff extremely friendly and helpful...only complaint was not having drinking water on course. Otherwise I will play here every chance I get. Bring extra balls if you're a 'spray' hitter...and allow time to practice putts before going out, greens are true but fast...
2 days of no aft winds :-))
played Dayton back to back days and lucked out both days as the aft winds were minimal, course is in excellent condition, all the staff very friendly, greens a tad firm and could hold better,my only minimal complaint, all in all a very pleasurable 2 days golfing at Dayton
missed out on the wind
course was in very good condition, greens very fast and maybe a tad too hard for getting balls to stop, excellent value for noon tee times and lucked out in missing the Dayton aft winds, fairways have some leeway for wayward drives but your approach shots better be on the money,,starters, pro shop ,and the junior players who meet you and clean your clubs all made for an excellent round
great value
The course is always in excellent condition and the staff is very friendly
Need to fix number 7
This is just a great course for the money. Always in good condition; great little practice area (no mats); only downside is some of the holes could be moderated. We found the 7th to be effectively unfair with balls in the center of the fairway being blown/rolled off into the water. Number 8 is another hole that could be sent back to the designer but generally a great course.
Dayton Valley
What happened to you Dayton Valley? Mid April and course was in horrible condition. You always kept the course in good condition but it has been run down, Even the Club House - Pro Shop has not seen a coat of paint in decades. Landscaping even in the parking lot was so run down not sure it will come back. I think Arnold Palmer if was to view this course he would not allow you to use his name or likeness. You have a ton of work to get this course back in shape before I would play here again,
Worth the drive! Very challenging
Great rest of golf. Plenty of variety. Friendly staff
Dayton in April
We had excellent weather and the course was not crowded. It is in very good shape. There is plenty of water and lots of sand traps, but somehow we avoided most of these. I'm hoping to play here again next week, as it is an incredible value. It's a bit out of the way from Reno, but worth the drive of approximately an hour.
Rude stadf
Everytime I golf on Thursdays there is the clubhouse guy that treates me like I'm a vagrant , I have golfed this course a dozen times and have to say it's my favorite layout . It's a shame that I have to worry about going inside to check in to get a cart because I have to communicate with this ungrateful rude employee. I won't be playing this course AGAIN very dissaponted in how cheap and rude Duncan management has become
Nice course, great views
Very pleased with this course. Several challenging holes with water. Bunkers were almost like waste areas.
Dauyton Valley
Greens were very good. Fairways were average. Bunkers were full of rocks and too many bugs on the back nine.
Spring Break Golf Outing
I had a wonderful time at the Dayton Valley Golf course. The weather was perfect albeit a little windy. Rick was very helpful with rental clubs and allowed my husband (doesn't golf) to chauffeur me on the course. I was allowed to golf alone as the course wasn't busy at 2:00. The course was challenging with lots of water and longer than my home course by far. There were some rough spots but I attribute that to it being early in the season. The only criticism I have is with the speed of play. The first 9 holes went smoothly but I ran into a group of five women on hole 10. They were playing slow and not allowing anyone to play through. That made for a long, frustrating end to the round.
Enjoy the challenge & the views
Need to get rid of geese!
Some work on smoothing out the greens and better sand in the traps - too many rocks in the traps.
Great in the Winter
The course is in great shape for January, but out Sunday round took 2 hours 45 minutes to play the front 9. Love this course year round, but the weekend pace of play is not good.
