Disappointing ... Not organized and conditions terrible.
If course was in mint condition I woul rate it a 5 of 10 however no starter and it made for a less than content experience.
Course in poor condition
We played this course because it was affordable but would not play it again due to the poor condition. The course has three 9-holes and we were assigned first to the Desert course. The fairways were literally dry brown grass; hadn't been watered in ages. The greens were okay. The Founders course had greener fairways but the putting greens were terrible; not allowing an accurate roll. The best deal was Boulder City's Boulder Creek; challenging, good condition, great bargain!
Nice Course
We played Founders for our back 9. BEAUTIFUL. The staff was very helpful, we had a very nice time. And got a healthy sunburn too !! Nice for March.
Ouch
Why in the world would the starter send me out to the Desert Course? I didn't realize the name matched the description. Just close that 9 down and build a nice driving range and practice facility
Nice course usually a great bargain.
Conditions are good, staff is friendly and you can usually get 18 in within about 3.5 -4 hrs or less. Great twilight specials and decent food. Definitely would recommend this one for an afternoon on the links.
perfect for the average golfer. Greens were not consistent but not a big deal. Staff and service make this a good value.
good value, friendly staff, some city views, three 9 hole courses to choose, got in on a Saturday morning as a single,
The course is interesting.
I don't like the gravel rough. It makes it tough on your clubs if you don't hit the fairway. The course is fair and fun. The greens, when they get in good shape should be very challenging. There was no beverage cart, which we needed. I would recommend this course to anyone. I doubt I will play it again though because of the gravel rough.
Good course. Great value and fun play.
Enjoyed the course at Black Mountain. It is a good play and a great value. Very fair and playable for all pleayers, but is interesting and in decent condition.
excellent course with great views
Had a great round, course is very challenging, would recommened to anyone , what ever level of player.
This was in very bad shape.
The grass on the front nine was completely yellow and the ground underneath was very hard and not watered. The greens were in somewhat decent shape, but the tee boxes and fare ways were terrible. They could at least water a little but at night during the winters to keep it somewhat nurtured but they completely disregard the fact that their grass is dead. The sand traps were half decent at best. When at the range prior to playing, it was like hitting off of dirt and rocks, rather than grass. Also I wouldn't want to pay 25/person on a course like this. 10/person would be good.
BlackMountian
one of the worse maintained courses i have ever seen. I played it 6 months ago and it was acceptable. i hope to see it return to its earlier state.
very friendly
We will come back to play all three 9 hole courses
Greens were undulating and challenging
If you keep it in the fairway the course is alot nicier
Worst 9 holes in Vegas!!
The desert course is the worst nine holes I have seen on a golf course. The fairways were DEAD not dormant, the greens were completely covered in divots. Pace of play was terrible and no marshall was present to move things along. Also there was no beverage cart during the entire 5 hour 18 holes, just a horrible experience on a beautiful day.
The couse some holeis are interesting.
For the Horizon, it will be better if the is a sign how to get to #7 after we finish #6th hole.
This course has a lot of interesting features
I love the course and the condition it's it right now. I would widen the fairways where there is waste areas as they are unplayable. Also, some of the holes on the Desert course are blind. Unless you are playing with someone that knows the course it makes it very difficult. I love the Distance Finders on the carts.
Scenic course
Excellent staff and a beautiful course.. Everything was the way it should have been. I will be playing this course quite a bit in the future.
Lots of FUN holes. In early February, it was in great shape.
This is a terrific deal for the money. Nice people. Fun course.
Nothing spectacular, fairly average
The greens were not in the best of shape, but for early February they were not bad. The majority of the course was in the dormant stage of growth.
Very disappointed in the range, very old balls that were maybe flying 70% at best.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
I would say for the money it was worth it but nothing to write home about.
Great improvements.
I had not played Black mountain in over 10 years so I was pleasantly surprised at all the changes and improvevents the Desert course was outstanding. I will play the course again the next time I am in Las Vegas. I am a 16 handicap and the course was so much fun. Keep up the good work.
