The course was average.
The course was average, unfortunetly it rained almost the whole time I played.
You don't feel like you have played golf
The course design is part of the problem... from crowned fairways to greens that are not fair to finishing holes that don't make sense... this course was not really designed very well. The conditions are poor, and the greens are bumpy and there are many ball marks. The members act like they own the place.... and the desert course really is a ripoff... low budget maintenance is obvious....
If there is nothing else open
This is one of those courses you go to if there is no other tee times avaiable and you really want to play. Basically a muni course. The fairways were all doormat and like hitting off dirt. Meanwhile they kept the foundrs course closed to anyone but "member" on MLK day. There is no rough, if you ae off the fairway you go right into desert rough. Save the trip on play a nice executive course instead of this place
Not bad for the price.
Paid $35 for 1130am tee time. The fairways were brown with dead grass, however the tee boxes and the grass surrounding the greens were quite healthy green. The pace of play was smooth as there was nobody in front of us as well as behind us. I would definitely come back and play this course again.
wide open and great fairways
great course, we always book at golfnow.com. it's so easy and you get booking fees waived the more you play. i would recommend all courses on golf now.com and we are very happy with the site.
Super Cold~!!!
I played in Dec.16th. It was really cold.
(Members were using their own wind-covers to their carts.)
Also green was too fast and need maintenance.
If you are a beginner, the course will be very hard.
Because the rough is not covered by bush or grass.
(You have to hit your ball on the pebbles or rocks!!!)
This Course had very fast greens.
Golfing at this golf course a lot would make you better at hitting the ball straight. If you are not in the farway, that means you are in the desert. The farways are not a big as other courses which also makes each shot challenging.
We would not return to this course on our next trip to Vegas.
Black Mountain was a little disappointing. All staff were friendly and helpful, but we were disappointed right from the start when there was no food service available at 9:00 a.m. and we were forced to eat packaged pastries for breakfast (we came to the course specifically to have breakfast before the round). The course is in average condition, but the greens were disappointingly slow. We followed the Tuesday men's Skins Game which made for a slower pace of play, as the group in front of us was a five-some, something we're not fond of at any time.
Fun course, good value
The practice green was closed, and the range balls were from another age, but once we got on the course we had a great time. The course was in very good shape, and the staff was friendly.
Great Staff and Course
Greeted promptly when we arrived and had help loading our bags onto the cart. Clubhouse staff was very friendly and gave us some info on the course because I hadn't played there before. Course was in the middle of overseeding and the fairway was very soft so carts weren't allowed off the path so that slowed down play a little bit. The course was very challenging, if you hit the fairways you had a good chance at par but if you found the rough it was thick and deep and punished you. Very satisfied with everything though and would look forward to going back and playing another round there.
Condition
Condition was not great. Bunkers had no sand, the fairways were in poor condition. However the 9 we were unable to play on looked great.
