TPC Las Vegas
About
TPC Las Vegas (formerly known as The Tournament Players Club at The Canyons) is Vegas' premier PGA Tour facility, making it a popular destination for professional players and casual golfers alike. The golf course enjoys a scenic backdrop provided by Red Rock Canyon, with views stretching past the surrounding mountains to the Las Vegas skyline. Lush greens contrast the rugged desert landscape of arroyos and barrancas. This challenging layout will test the shot-making skills of even the most seasoned players. The deceptively sloped greens can be difficult but the fairways are somewhat wide and give a little room for error. The back nine presents a particularly formidable test. It is difficult to pick out a signature hole, but the par-4 13th, nicknamed "Death Valley" is memorable for being one of the best risk-reward opportunities on the golf course.

Well worth the money
TPC Las Vegas was a great experience overall. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome and are treated as if you were a member. The course was in great condition, the greens while fast were in perfect condition. The layout while challenging allows for any level of golfer to succeed if they are on their game. The cost may not allow everyone to play on a regular basis but treat yourself at least once.
Great place to play
Great golf course to play and test your skills where pro play.
great course
Golf the way its supposed to be. Course is in great shape facilities are top notch and staff is great. Must play in Vegas.
TPC Las Vegas
This was a first class experiance. The staff & golf course were outstanding. Very glad I chose this venue.
Awesome course for the Money$$
We played the course in about 3 hrs. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for good challenge and loves a well manicured facility.
Great experience
Starting with the club drop off. A great & professional experience. Course was in awesome shape. Pace of play perfect. A great day.
A great course
A very well designed course, testing but not impossible. The greens were fast and extremely hard, but true. A shame about the bird muck all over the 18th, definitely would play again here, especially with a discount.
relaxing round of golf
staff was very friendly and helpful, 5 star treatment soon as we hit the bag drop. practice facilities were very nice, just what you would expect from a TPC course. Only negative was a very slow pace of play, barley finished before pitch dark, just short of a 5 hour round. TPC courses are expensive but I got this at a pretty good deal and would love to go back and play it again.
A must while in Las Vegas
I must admit, since this was my first time playing a TPC Golf course, I was a bit nervous. When you walk into the Clubhouse, it screams First Class all the way. Professional staff to say the least. The Starter was Gentlemen through and through. The course conditions were excellent for this time of year(Jan 1st). What makes this course tough? Let's see: First and foremost the greens are fast and well protected. Most have false fronts/backs/sides etc. On hole #1, I thought my ball landed 8' from the hole, but when I got to the green, I had seen it had rolled off the green. It was that kind of day. Ended up shooting a 90. Not good. I would consider Badlands to be more of a tough course as far as fairways and approach shots, but TPCLV's greens are much tougher. Pick your poison I guess. Prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for.
My biggest regret on my most recent Vegas vacation
The TPC brand of golf courses carry a certain reputation. While each has their own character and qualities, there is obvious expectation of a positive golf experience. I've been fortunate to play many in the TPC family: Boston, Louisiana, Southwind and both Sawgrass courses. All of those gave me a quality day. TPC Las Vegas is the first that did not. With all the golf options and other things to do on a Las Vegas visit, I regret spending an entire day at this property. And I do mean an "entire day." I showed up much earlier than my tee time in the hopes of getting out earlier and was immediately given the cold shoulder from a staff member in the pro shop. The starter also did me absolutely no favors despite having only a threesome go off about an hour before my scheduled time. Honestly, I wonder if TPC Las Vegas treated me so poorly because I booked on GolfNow and didn't spend any additional money on the property for balls, gloves, etc. It was a very odd feeling and one where my business was certainly not appreciated. The course itself was simply nothing special and many holes reminded me of Badlands on the next exit. Oh, and I wasn't alone in a bad experience. A twosome from Toronto playing with me AND a twosome in front of me both had their carts die early in the back nine. When we asked after the round why this happened, an attendant actually said, "Yeah...sorry about that. We have new carts coming in end of the month, but they're trying to get every last ounce out of these." Most of us take Las Vegas trips and have a major regret somewhere during our stay, but it is usually a rough night of gambling or a morning hangover. My major regret was this golf experience.
Unexpected Pleasure
As a recreational golfer, my expectation was that this course would be quite challenging. To my surprise, I had an outstanding day of golf. I played from the back tees, and carded a low 80's score (truly unexpected since I was fighting the flu).
I don't image that I could repeat that round.
First one there
Christmas morning early about 6:45 watching the sunrise I was the first person there I was so excited. Got to watch a beautiful sunrise. After the sun rose the staff showed up and quickly got things rolling.
The facility as whole is very nice. Course was very well kept even in winter. Greens were in good condition. Carts were your typical golf cart with GPS which mine didn't work very well. Really my only complaint is that the driving range faces the sunrise so it made it very difficult to see the ball. Other than that it was a very Merry Christmas. They also have a decent chipping and putting area.
I would definitely play this course again. It's not cheap so it might take me a while to make it back.
Nice Track
Nice track. Well maintained. Fun to play. True rolling greens.
we will come back
first time there. Golfed with a local Dick Ryan, always helpful the first time for local knowledge. Really enjoyed the course. We will go back. Hardly anybody there for the time of the year. It was like playing on a private course.
TPC Las Vegas: Where desert canyons guard fast greens
A winding canyon on the back nine defines the 7,080-yard TPC Las Vegas, a Bobby Weed and Raymond Floyd collaboration that has hosted both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour.
The five-hole stretch starting at the par-3 12th hole throws a canyon in your face on nearly every shot. It's a dramatic setting among the best in Las Vegas.
The 12th green is a virtual island surrounded by trouble. The demanding carries from the blue tees of the par-4s at No. 13 and No. 14 - nicknamed "Death Valley" and "Gorge-ous" - are two of most exciting shots in Sin City. The greens might be consistently the fastest in Las Vegas.
New GPS in the carts, an outstanding TOUR Academy and good food in the clubhouse combine for a complete experience.
Don't confuse this facility with the TPC Summerlin right down the road. That private club hosts the Shriners Hospital event on the PGA Tour.
Nice greens!
It's always fun to play where the "big boys" have played. TPC Las Vegas doesn't disappoint. Loved the fast greens.
Great day, great course, great marshalling
My pal and I were in Vegas thanksgiving day. Booked a round for TPC Vegas and it was a great rate. Only one problem, I messed up the booking and actually made it for the next day, Friday. The shop staff were awesome and let us have the same rate Thursday. We were just a 2 and it didn't take long to catch the next group. At the next hole the marshall came by and said that he had sorted it with the next 2 groups to let us pass, Great! Once we got by them we flew and were done in 3 1/2 hours (it could have been 3, but we repeated a couple holes). Awesome afternoon, course was in great shape and of course when you're playing good, which both of us were, it makes it all that much better!
TPC Vegas was in perfect shape
The day we played TPC Vegas it was very busy, still played in 4 hours, conditions were near perfect. I will absolutely play again on my next trip to Vegas. Slow play has become such an epidemic, it is refreshing to play a course that keeps the pace of play under 4 1/2 hours.
There's better deals to be had!
Nice course overall, but the greens were in poor shape. The layout was challenging for anyone who is a slicer off the tee, but fun to play. The mountains in the background were nice too see, but I would choose other courses for the $.
Nothing Special
Given the TPC affiliation I was expecting more. The course was fine in terms of layout, the greens were typical for a higher dollar resort course (rolled well, lots of ball marks) and the staff was happy if somewhat inept (no charged carts ?).
Two complaints - no yardage indicator in the carts and hard to find them on the ground. Several traps had grass growing in them and the sand in the traps varied from dusty mud to a sand dune.
Overall I gave it three stars. Lots of other choices in the area, I'm sure there are better courses for the money.
