Barony at Port Royal Golf Club

Pro shop staff and starter were arrogant and aloof; other staff appeared to be helpful and congenial. Cost for the round of golf too high. Confirmation for the round of golf listed range balls as part of the confirmation but was not accepted or acknowledged by the pro shop staff (must be an error with the website; we will discuss with our management!!!!!)

We had a tee time @ 11:16 AM, bag boy and inside personnel very nice, starter was grumpy old man with authority issues, after the 9th green there was a station with water and ice, no ice-empty, had to drive ALL the way to the club house to get ice and water, no cart personnel the whole 18, greens had dead spots and one bunker had roots in the sand trap(16th). I expected GPS on the carts for the price you pay so I would recommend another course.

I come to Hilton Head every year and this was my first time playing at Port Royal and it was nothing short of excellent. I’d come back just for the staff who we’re absolutely great! Course was beautiful and taken care of for this time of year. Overall can’t get a better golfing experience for the price here

Staff very friendly, Course in good condition and pace of play was great. Not busy so as a twosome we finished in 3 hours.

Played an early morning at the Barony course which we have played many times. Found the course to be in very good condition after it had been aerated a few weeks ago. The course the flat layout common to lowland golf. Water borders many of the holes but shots are not fed into the hazards like a number of the area courses. Greens were in good shape generally for this time in summer heat. The staff here is just excellent and the daily fee is fair for on island golf. Play here, you’ll have a great time.
