About
The Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club constitutes 18 of this well-known island facility's 54 holes.
Playing to just 6,543 yards from the gold tees, Barony is a very enjoyable course for all skill levels. The back nine in particular is a fine mix of long and short holes. Like its sister courses at Port Royal, Barony begins and ends at the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.
From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. But as you approach the green the real challenge of the course becomes clear. The greens are small and protected by deep bunkers and Bermuda rough, demanding an excellent touch with the medium and short irons. This is a course where accuracy, not length is the key factor.

I’d pass on this one if you have option
I guess you get what you pay for. Short course in far condition. Not great conditions and long slow greens. Pace of play was the worse thing. They let a one some out in between two foursomes followed by a twosome. We waited on every shot and had people breathing down our backs. Even the drink cart lady was brutally slow!
Good track
Course was in fair conditions thr fairways and tee boxes wee a little bare. The greens were in good shape but rather slow. You need to get used to them

Barony
Pace of play would have been fine except we had a group of 6 ahead of us.
Marshall cam out but did not break them up. They also shared clubs and rode 3 to a cart.
Fairways
Fairways were in rough shape. Lots of tree debris.
Nice layout, condition needs work
It's a nice course layout and the greens were in great shape. Fairways were in poor condition (possibly due to drought conditions?). The staff was friendly and the non-golf facilities were nice.
Dog track
The course was in poor condition. It has not been maintained at all. Fairways were in bad shape.
Greens were okay.. Most of the greens were in fair condition but not all of them.
It has not been taken care of.
The restrooms were either out of order or dirty. The garbage cans were all overflowing.
Staff was very friendly.
Save your money and play somewhere else.
Great customer service
Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The course was in ok condition. The bathroom at the turn was not open. Since you don’t end up at the clubhouse at the turn, this was a problem. We had to wait to the 15th hole. Only saw the cart girl once.
We stopped in the grille after the round. Very nice and the bartender was super nice
Slowwww
5 hour round! Didn’t see a Marshall all day. Saw the cart girl once all day. Course is in very good shape. Hope you like dogleg lefts... there are plenty. Very small greens but rolled well.
Good, but needs maintenance.
The staff and support is excellent. Very professional indeed. The course has some rough edges. Many areas around the greens have lots of crab grass clusters. That is really the only negative comment I can make.
The greens themselves were excellent. The fairways were very good. Traps clean and in good condition.
