The Barony Course at Port Royal Golf Club constitutes 18 of this well-known island facility's 54 holes.
Playing to just 6,543 yards from the gold tees, Barony is a very enjoyable course for all skill levels. The back nine in particular is a fine mix of long and short holes. Like its sister courses at Port Royal, Barony begins and ends at the club's beautiful Antebellum-style clubhouse.
From the tee, many of the holes on Barony appear to be relatively open. But as you approach the green the real challenge of the course becomes clear. The greens are small and protected by deep bunkers and Bermuda rough, demanding an excellent touch with the medium and short irons. This is a course where accuracy, not length is the key factor.

Constantly Consistent
We've played here and its companion course, Robber's Row, before and have come to count on friendly service, excellent tee boxes, long rolling fairways, well kept bunkers and fair and fast greens.
This round did not disappoint as the course was in excellent shape even in the winter months.
We will be back.
Fun Course
Thia course was fun and challenging.. The long holes with what seems like lots of doglegs made this a fun course to play. I found the yardage markers on the sprinklers helpful since not all courses have them. Playing in the winter had the fairways brown but the greens were green and fast.
Very nice amenities. Wished it was overseeded
The clubhouse experience and helpfulness and friendliness of staff is excellent, just what you would expect from a “nice” course. It was cold and windy which is not their fault. Cart person came around twice with great selections for drinks and snacks. Sometimes the paths are hard to follow and we took a wrong turn after one hole. Nice bathrooms on the course. The grass was brown (it’s winter) but would be nice if they would over seed. I’ve never played in this area in winter so maybe that is not something they do? Nice greens that were fast. Nice carts. A fun time and a great experience

The course is in very good shape....cart paths need repair. Greens and tee boxes were in great shape.
Nice course, good value
Played in Dec so some grass was brown, but greens and tee boxes were still green and well-maintained. Course was moderately challenging with some water (although not too difficult to avoid) and a lot of well-protected greens. Bunkers were a big issue for any inaccurate shots. Staff was very friendly and pro shop was nice. They give you a free warm-up bucket of range balls, which is nice since some courses charge for it.
Horrible management
We had a 1:00 tee time, got there at 12:20 to hit balls, and they said there was a 30 min wait because they had all the karts in use already, said they got busy. They let the locals come in and jump tee times over people who had a tee time reserved. Finally got out at 1:40. Course was alright, greens were about 4 days since last cutting. Only got through 17 holes. It might’ve been a one time thing, but out of the other courses here, there’s no chance I take that risk again.
