While Hilton Head is chock full of courses designed by some of the greatest names in golf, just one of them was designed with a computer to give it lines straighter than an arrow throughout.
The Robert Cupp Course at Palmetto Hall can be one of the most interesting and eclectic courses you'll play, as well as possibly one of the toughest. From the back tees the course plays to 7,079, with a slope rating of 144.
Named as Golf World's top designer in 1992, Cupp created a course that is visually challenging as well as challenging to play. With sand traps looking as if they were drawn in by, well, a computer, this is a course you'll tell your friends about, though you may not tell them your score.

Tough but fair
Excellent course. Enjoyed the visuals as we moved around the course. Played in 4 hours so pace was acceptable. We played with two locals who told us the greens were slower than normal which made sense to us.
Great golf experience
Had a great day playing this course. Greens were in great shape. Overall really good round
If you want a challenge
I played this course after not having played it for several years. I am playing better now than when I played years ago and found the course to be more difficult than I remembered. The elevated and undulating greens present another level of challenge once you get on them. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and will come back again to play
Enjoyable
Challenging layout, well maintained, free range balls, good greens, good price..
Great layout. Condition was very good. Had a lot of fun playing the course
Very good value and course conditions
Played following a night of 4 inches of rain. Cart path only but although damp it was in very good condition. Greens were were true and rolled well. The course could use another set of forward tees . Overall the pace was very good (under 4 hrs). Staff were ok.

Awesome Course
I played on a rainy day,the course was wet, but seems to drain well. It is challenging but very fair, rewarding good tee shots. I thoroughly enjoyed my round!
Greens excellent
While the greens were excellent I couldn’t buy a putt.... again a lot of water and if you stray offline you are severely punished!!

Interesting lay out, great overall condition, nice greens that ran true and smooth at a good pace.
Good course. Worth playing
Enjoyed the course. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. With no GPS in carts,, it would be helpful to have a distance marker on the tee box to hidden hazards or sand traps in the fairway.. Overall, I would play this course again and recommend the course. There are tees to challenge every level of golfer.
