While Hilton Head is chock full of courses designed by some of the greatest names in golf, just one of them was designed with a computer to give it lines straighter than an arrow throughout.
The Robert Cupp Course at Palmetto Hall can be one of the most interesting and eclectic courses you'll play, as well as possibly one of the toughest. From the back tees the course plays to 7,079, with a slope rating of 144.
Named as Golf World's top designer in 1992, Cupp created a course that is visually challenging as well as challenging to play. With sand traps looking as if they were drawn in by, well, a computer, this is a course you'll tell your friends about, though you may not tell them your score.

Great Layout
Love the course! Scenic and challenging. One complaint - no yardage markers except the standard ones. Tons of sprinkler heads but no yardage. Without GPS in the carts it makes it difficult to play. .
Decent track
This is a nice course, but I’m not sure why no one was playing it. Course was in great shape. Cart paths need replacing, and I didn’t appreciate the 2 some pushing me the whole way and not playing through. Played 2 balls and finished in less than 3 hours.
Plantation Hall Golf Course
Excellent golf course with someone very creative hole designs. You’ll enjoy the character of this course.
Great Round
Back 9 greens were kind of bumpy. Otherwise a great course.
Great Deal on the island!
Was not sure what to expect having never played here before. The greens were in great shape although a little on the slow side. The fairways were in great shape as well. Perfect spot to play a round with a newer golfer. Pace was perfect, played in under 4.5 hours on a very hot day. Staff in the grille was very nice and quick. Would definitely play here again on a future vacation. Would love to play the Hills course as well.

Course is in good shape. Greens have been aerated. Good value and great on island location.
A good value for the money on Golf Now
Have played here previously a few times. I enjoy the layout and challenge of the course. Played the white tees which allow me to hit irons into most greens. Great finishing hole.
Range closed, Rude attendant
The reason I booked this course is that they had a range and the fee included range balls. When I got to course the range was closed. They had a sign saying the range is closed every Friday for several hours since June of 2018 for maintenance. Nowhere in the listing on GolfNow or on the website of the course state that the range was closed on Fridays. I would have booked someplace else if I had know the range was closed. The pro shop staff attendant was rude and acted because I booked through GolfNow that somehow I was inferior to others when I asked for a discount as the range was closed. The manager arrived and he gave me a $10 discount and still the attendant was arguing with him that I was a GolfNow purchaser and wasn't entitled to a discount.
Good course for every type of golfer
The layout is fair to the high handicappers from the white tees and demanding from the back tees. You have to know where to play the ball.
Slowish greens but great layout!
Course conditions seem to get better every week. Greens still a little slow but definitely playable. Love the layout, wide fairways and challenging approach shots. Will be back.
Golf course maintence
Once again Brown Golf is not maintaining the putting surfaces , to that of other near by courses in the same or lesser cost range. They need to put some money into this and other Brown Golf managed courses, PLAY good golf else where at less cost.
Great course, great staff
This is my second year playing this course and Arthur Hills. Both are great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 5 stars in every aspect. I highly recommend playing here.
